Fun fact: a lot of prominent musicians, across many genres, have a May 21st birthday, including

- the irreverent jazz pioneer Fats Waller
- the virtuosic oboist and composer Heinz Holliger
- the eclectic and electric guitarist Marc Ribot
- the iconic rapper Notorious B.I.G.

among many others. Aptly enough, those adjectives also describe our dearest to a tee.

Please join us in wishing the IRREVERENT, VIRTUOSIC, ECLECTIC, ELECTRIC, and ICONIC NICHOLAS CORDS the HAPPIEST of BIRTHDAYS today!!!🎉🎉🎉

Congratulations to our dear friend, composer on her recent PULITZER PRIZE in Music!!!!🏆🏆🏆

We are so proud of Gaby, and of the long history of work we’ve done together (hear her piece Kanto Kechua no. 2 on our Grammy-nominated album from 2020 Healing Modes)

This history continues, and very soon!! We recently premiered her fantastical piece Frida’s Dreams this past February in Houston at and we’ll be giving its EUROPEAN PREMIERE in June at in Leverkusen, Germany! We’ll also be playing it in London at a couple days later!

We are deeply grateful to all presenting organizations which came on board as co-commissioners - we wouldn't be able to do what we do without your continuous support.

Once again, congratulations to Gaby, and we can’t wait to dive back into your musical world very soon!!!

So many great world premieres happening this week across our great nation! It’s hard work, the business of creation (so much easier to destroy, amirite?) but we are lucky and proud to count ourselves among the cohort that believes in the transformational power of art and music.

Hope to see some of you in Houston this week for the world premiere of Frida’s Dreams, by the inimitable Gabriela Lena Frank, presented by Da Camera of Houston
