Another one finished in Nerang. Just the exterior of these windows and doors.
These aluminium windows were the old bronze anodised colour and really stood out against the new lighter colour scheme.
We’re changing them over to Surfmist so they tie in with the walls and become part of the new look of the house rather than looking like something left behind from the original build.
A fair bit goes into getting from bronze to Surfmist. Clean, sand and prepare the aluminium, mask everything up, prime it and then spray the finish coats.
It’s amazing how much difference the window colour makes to a house. You can change the walls, floors and everything around them, but those old bronze frames can still make the place feel dated.
Same windows, just a completely different look.

Here we are part way thru an aluminium window painting job at Clear Island Waters. Going from that old parchment to a very contemporary matt black. You can see some of our taped up windows and right thru to the finished product. I just love the black with the brickwork.

This week we have been revisiting a job we painted 30yrs ago. This time we are doing the aluminium front door surround, fencing and balustrades around the property on the Gold Coast.
I apologise for showing my face. I am hopeless at these videos and it kinda ends abruptly but I get to show you guys what sort of quality we were doing 30yrs with a brush and oil based UC and gloss. My dad and i were super proud of the work we turned out and at least i get to show you a little bit of that. This is no festool back in the day its just bleeding fingers that got us there haha. Again sorry for the crapness but some might get the drift.
So its kinda a crap video because I do not do these kinds of posts etc so sorry for the quality. A pretty big deal going back to a Interpacific built house 30yrs later and been able to show some of the work my dad and I used to do. I know everything these days is festool your way to smoother woodwork but back in our day our fingers would bleed to make woodwork this smooth. I have always been extremely proud of the work we did but without oics these days it did not happen. So here is the proof of our kind of work. The house has been fockerized by other painters over the years but some of the architraves are still the way we did them 30yrs ago. Sorry about the abrupt end of the video.

One of our customers recently sent us these before and after photos, and they really show what a difference a colour change can make.
The original windows were brown anodised aluminium. During the renovation, new windows had been installed in Surfmist, so the older windows suddenly looked completely out of place.
Instead of replacing all of the existing aluminium windows, we resprayed them in Surfmist to match the new ones.
This is exactly why we do what we do.
So many people spend a lot of money renovating their homes, only to be left with older aluminium windows that no longer suit the new colour scheme. Replacing perfectly good windows can be incredibly expensive, but changing the colour of the existing frames is often all that's needed to bring the whole renovation together.
Are they brand new windows? No.
But they don't come with brand new window prices either.

We have had Oliver with us from Tafe for the week doing some work experience. I really believe we have to give the young ones a go and this young guy will make a bloody good tradie when he moves towards a full-time job.
