Eighteen senior Vietnamese public sector leaders have arrived in Australia for a knowledge exchange on institutional innovation and digital transformation in the public sector, funded through the Vietnam Australia Centre and delivered by Griffith University. [Vietnamese below]

Over the next two weeks in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane, participants will engage with Australian experts and institutions to explore innovative approaches to leadership, governance, digital transformation and sustainable development. The program strengthens knowledge and fosters networks and partnerships needed to drive institutional innovation, improve public service delivery and prepare for future challenges.

By connecting Australian and Vietnamese leaders, the program demonstrates the value of international knowledge exchange in building stronger, more effective and future-ready public institutions.

Mười tám cán bộ lãnh đạo cấp cao từ các cơ quan thuộc khu vực công của Việt Nam đã đến Australia, chính thức bắt đầu Chương trình trao đổi kiến thức tại Australia về đổi mới thể chế và chuyển đổi số trong khu vực công do Australia tài trợ thông qua Trung tâm Việt-Úc và được Đại học Griffith triển khai.

Trong hai tuần tới tại Sydney, Canberra và Brisbane, các đại biểu sẽ gặp gỡ, trao đổi với các chuyên gia và cơ quan của Australia, cùng tìm hiểu những đổi mới trong phát triển năng lực lãnh đạo, quản trị, chuyển đổi số và phát triển bền vững. Chương trình hỗ trợ các cán bộ lãnh đạo Việt Nam mở rộng mạng lưới kết nối và thúc đẩy hợp tác, qua đó tạo thêm động lực cho đổi mới thể chế, nâng cao chất lượng cung cấp dịch vụ công và chủ động chuẩn bị cho những thách thức trong tương lai.

Thông qua sự kết nối này, chương trình tạo cơ hội để Việt Nam và Australia cùng chia sẻ kinh nghiệm, học hỏi lẫn nhau và tăng cường hợp tác hướng tới xây dựng nền hành chính công vững mạnh, hiệu quả và sẵn sàng cho tương lai.

20 emerging leaders and 2 GoF trainers from across Fiji recently gathered in Suva for the Australia Awards Fiji Data for Decision Making Short Course Pre- Course Workshop.

Facilitated by Professor Dian Tjondronegoro and Ms Rhetta Chappell, the 5-day program combined interactive workshops, presentations, site visits and reflective learning activities designed to strengthen participants' practical data analysis skills and support the use of high-quality, decision-ready data across government ministries.

This Short Course will bring participants to Australia in November, where they will engage with hands‑on workshops in Excel‑based data analysis, data visualisation and storytelling, and the responsible use of AI‑enabled tools. Participants will also undertake site visits to Australian government and public institutions, gaining valuable insights into data-driven policy, planning and service delivery.

We look forward to collaborating with participants as they explore the future of data, analytics and evidence-based decision-making.

Australia Awards are prestigious international Scholarships, Fellowships, and Short Courses funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Griffith University was proud to host 24 participants from Indonesia for the Australia Awards Short Course, Promoting Leadership for Transparency and Accountability in the Public Sector, funded by the Australian Government. Over two weeks in Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney, participants engaged with leading experts, integrity agencies and public institutions to explore practical approaches to strengthening transparency, accountability and ethical leadership in the public sector.

The program combined expert presentations, interactive workshops, networking opportunities and site visits focused on public sector integrity, anti-corruption reform and good governance. Participants took part in the Asia-Pacific Integrity School, explored Australian approaches to accountability and transparency, and exchanged experiences with practitioners and leaders from across the region.

Throughout the program, participants met with representatives from organisations including the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission, High Court of Australia, Australian Public Service Commission, Australian National Audit Office, National Anti-Corruption Commission and Australian Parliament House. These engagements provided valuable insights into how integrity systems operate across the public sector and the critical role of leadership in fostering public trust.

The course concluded with participant award project presentations and discussions on practical actions to support transparency and accountability reforms in Indonesia. Griffith University thanks all participants, presenters and partner organisations for contributing to a dynamic and meaningful knowledge exchange, strengthening connections and collaboration between Indonesia and Australia.

Participants in the Australia Awards Indonesia Short Course on Community-Based Early Warning, Early Action and Climate Risk Management in the Indo-Pacific, funded by the Australian Government and delivered by Griffith University, have commenced their course through two pre-course workshops held in Surabaya, Indonesia and Nadi, Fiji.

Led by Dr Febi Dwirahmadi and Associate Professor Rob Hales, the two-day workshops introduced participants to the course and explored approaches to strengthening early warning systems, risk communication, preparedness planning, and multi-agency coordination.

The program supports shared Australia-Indonesia priorities in building community resilience and enhancing anticipatory action in the face of climate and disaster risks. It also provides a valuable platform for participants from across the Indo-Pacific to connect, share experiences, and develop practical strategies to support more resilient communities.

Participants will travel to Australia in October to take part in a two-week intensive program, where they will further strengthen their knowledge and skills in climate risk management and community-based disaster preparedness.

The Asia-Pacific Integrity School officially launches today, marking the beginning of a dynamic and impactful week dedicated to learning, collaboration, and leadership development. Delivered through a strategic partnership between Griffith University and Transparency International chapters across the region, the five-day intensive program brings together emerging leaders from 16 countries, including participants from the Australia Awards Indonesia Short Course on Promoting Leadership for Transparency and Accountability in the Public Sector and the Integrity & Anti-Corruption for Early Career Professionals of Integrity Agencies in Papua New Guinea funded by UNODC.

Designed for early and mid-career professionals and young changemakers from across sectors, the program equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and strategies needed to champion integrity and implement effective anti-corruption measures in their organisations and communities. Led by Professor A J Brown and Dr Giverney Ainscough together with Ms Leah Ambler, the program features engaging panel discussions, expert presentations on transparency and accountability, and valuable networking opportunities with peers and senior leaders from across the region.

The opening ceremony featured remarks from Professor Ian Hall, Head of School, School of Government and International Relations, Griffith University; Ms Maira Martini, CEO, Transparency International and Ms Allison Carrington, State Director, QLD State Office, DFAT. Their insights help set the stage for a transformative week of learning, dialogue, and collaboration.

Throughout the program, participants build meaningful connections, exchange ideas and experiences, and explore practical approaches to strengthening integrity, transparency, and accountability. The Asia-Pacific Integrity School provides a unique platform for emerging leaders to develop their leadership capabilities and contribute to lasting positive change across the region.

Griffith University is proud to welcome 24 participants from Indonesia for the Australia Awards Short Course, Promoting Leadership for Transparency and Accountability in the Public Sector, funded by the Australian Government.

Over the next two weeks, participants will engage in a dynamic program of presentations, networking opportunities and site visits designed to strengthen public sector integrity and transparency in Indonesia. The course is led by Professor A J Brown AM and Ms Leah Ambler, alongside expert contributors Dr Giverney Ainscough, Dr Widoyoko Danang and Mr Clancy Moore.

With a strong focus on integrity, transparency and leadership, the program aims to support Indonesia’s public sector reform efforts while developing participants’ leadership capabilities and sharing best-practice approaches to ethical governance.

Week One begins with the Asia-Pacific Integrity School, where participants will gain policy, analytical and operational tools to strengthen accountability and advance anti-corruption initiatives.

In week two, participants will travel to Canberra to meet with Australia’s leading experts and institutions working across transparency, accountability and compliance in both the public and private sectors.

We look forward to the valuable knowledge exchange, meaningful partnerships and lasting impact this experience will foster between Indonesia and Australia.

The participants of the Australia Awards Short Course on Accessing Climate Finance for Pakistan, delivered by Griffith University, gathered online for their final workshop!

Course Leaders Associate Professor Rob Hales, Professor Christoph Nedopil Wang and Rita O’Sullivan led the workshop where participants had the opportunity to display the knowledge and insights gained throughout the course by presenting their projects to course leaders and fellow participants.

Thirty emerging leaders from across Papua New Guinea recently gathered in Port Moresby for the Australia Awards Papua GEDSI Short Course, a four-week program focused on advancing women's leadership and strengthening inclusive development outcomes.

Facilitated by Griffith University academics Dr Samantha Rarrick, Dr Inez Faingaa-Manu Sione and Professor Barbara Pini, the course combined interactive workshops, presentations, Tok Stori sessions, site visits and reflective learning activities designed to build participants’ leadership capabilities and policy engagement skills.

The program explored the role of women leaders across education, family, workplaces, sport, culture and policy. Participants engaged with key GEDSI issues through discussions on education policy, small business development, maternal and family care, and pathways to more inclusive leadership and decision-making.

Through collaborative workshops, participants evaluated existing policies and programs, examined different leadership styles, identify mentorship opportunities, and mapped critical policy issues affecting women’s leadership in Papua New Guinea.

Australia Awards in Papua New Guinea, through its Short Course, supports the development of Papua New Guineans’ knowledge, skills and capabilities in priority areas to enhance partnerships and linkages between Papua New Guinean and Australian organisations.
