Congratulations to Travis from our Steel team on winning the Buildoz Footy Tipping Competition for 2026! Travis has scored himself a $1000 Crown Gift Voucher!
Well done Trav! 👏🏻🏆

The Government wants to build 1.2 million homes by 2029 — but just cut $1,000 from the incentive employers get for taking on a housing construction apprentice.

The Key Apprenticeship Program (KAP) employer incentive has dropped from $5,000 to $4,000. For small builders and contractors already operating on tight margins, every dollar counts.

We’re already short of carpenters, plumbers and bricklayers. Cutting the incentive to hire and train them is the wrong move at the worst possible time.

You can’t build 1.2 million homes without the tradies to build them. And you can’t train tradies without supporting the employers who take them on.

Great to get some of the crew together for a relaxed dinner tonight

With the year already back in full swing, we wanted an opportunity to catch up and enjoy some well-earned social time with the team.

Big year ahead.
