Ever wondered what the numbers mean on AN fittings? 🤔

If you've ever looked at AN-4, AN-6, AN-8 or AN-10 and thought "What does that actually mean?" — here's a quick guide!

💡 AN = Army-Navy Standard
The dash number relates to the outside diameter (OD) of the hard tube.

Easy Rule of Thumb:
➡️ Dash Number ÷ 16 = Tube Size in Inches

Examples:
🔹 AN-4 = 4/16" = 1/4"
🔹 AN-6 = 6/16" = 3/8"
🔹 AN-8 = 8/16" = 1/2"
🔹 AN-10 = 10/16" = 5/8"
🔹 AN-12 = 12/16" = 3/4"

Whether you're plumbing a fuel system, oil cooler, transmission or catch can setup, choosing the correct AN size makes all the difference.
