Well Vincent Hooper … we did it. ❤️

What started as one very cheeky idea became one of the most rewarding creative journeys I’ve ever been part of.

From April, it was meetings in Melbourne, dinners spent throwing around hectic ideas, LOL planning sessions, countless phone calls, endless Zoom meetings, voice notes, song licensing dilemmas and endless hilarity. Every conversation made Throbbin Wood bigger, bolder and funnier.

Vin, thank you for throwing yourself into this production with everything you had. For saying “yes” to the ridiculous, finding the heart in the chaos, and never once telling me one of my ideas was too crazy… even when it probably was.

Thank you for creating a rehearsal room where people felt safe to play, take risks and be completely fearless. You led this company with generosity, humour and trust, and that filtered through every rehearsal and every performance.

I’m so proud of what we created together. Not just the show itself, but the friendships, the memories and the laughter that came with it.

Thank you for believing in this wonderfully inappropriate little production and for being such an incredible creative partner on this journey.

Here’s to our Throbbin Wood… and to our next crazy adventure.... Peter Pan in Melbourne! Vincent Hooper

It takes a village to create theatre… and what a village this was!

While our cast took the applause, an extraordinary team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring Throbbin’ Wood to life.

To our incredible Choreographer, Shenae White thank you for filling the stage with energy, humour and pure joy.
To our phenomenal Stage Management Team - Karla Nessfield-Thomas, Elysia Harris and Karen Thompson, thank you for keeping the organised chaos running with professionalism, heart and endless patience.

To our brilliant Costume Team, Designer - Katie Williams and Maker - Nicole Jenkins, thank you for every stitch, fitting and repair that helped create a world bursting with colour and character.

To our Sound Team – Dave Keys and Clara Evans, and our Lighting Designer, Richard Timms, thank you for making every laugh, every cue and every magical moment land exactly as it should.

To our talented Hair & Makeup Team, Manuao Te Aotonga and Tess Wearing – thank you for transforming our cast into the wonderfully outrageous characters audiences fell in love with.

To our incredible Scenic Team, Rhi Walker, Rosie from Maker Change and Ryan Hyte, thank you for every paint spray, every staple, every piece of dressing and every finishing touch that brought our world to life. A special thank you to our talented carpenters, Rod, Troy and Clay, whose craftsmanship quite literally built the world of Throbbin’ Wood from the ground up. As The West Australian wrote, “Beautifully crafted sets.”

And finally, to our incredible family at the Regal Theatre, Tom, Alex, Caleb, Stu, Michael, Liam, Raph, Kim, Billi, Sam, Victoria, Cam and the many others who worked behind the scenes throughout the season – thank you for welcoming us into your home, supporting us every step of the way and helping deliver an unforgettable experience for our audiences.

To every single person who played a part in Throbbin’ Wood… thank you. This standing ovation belongs to you too

The heartbeat behind the hilarity… 🎹🎺🥁

Every great pantomime needs a brilliant band… and ours didn’t just play the music, they became part of the show.

Our incredible Ben Clarke did it all. As our Vocal Director, pianist, the unmistakable voice of our David Attenborough-inspired narrator and, of course, the unforgettable King Dick, Ben became a genuine audience favourite. Blind since birth, his talent, wit and musicianship are extraordinary, and his storytelling set the scene for every ridiculous adventure that followed.

Right beside him was his partner in crime, Mason Vellios, our Band Leader, percussionist, musical arranger and the genius behind every track you heard throughout the show. Whether he was keeping the show moving, adding another outrageous sound effect, or pulling out a recorder during our pre-show Dirty Disco, Mason was the heartbeat of the music from start to finish.

And completing the trio was the sensational Sam Timmerman, whose trumpet and sax brought another layer of energy and excitement to every performance.

⭐ “The musicians weren’t simply accompaniment, they became part of the world of the show, embracing their own characters and contributing to the comedy throughout the night. It was an absolute joy to watch.” — His & Hers Reviews

Last two shows today Perth!!!

To Ben, Mason and Sam T… thank you for giving Throbbin’ Wood its sound, its soul and so many unforgettable moments. ❤️
