❤️ Sydney’s Story – A Routine Limp That Saved Her Life ❤️
Sydney first visited SAI Vet Hospital for what seemed like a straightforward right hind leg lameness assessment. However, during her examination, Dr Satty and Dr Amit discovered something far more serious.
An ultrasound revealed a large bleeding splenic mass causing a life-threatening haemorrhage into her abdomen (haemoabdomen). What started as a routine orthopaedic consultation quickly became a race against time. Sydney required emergency stabilisation, including blood product support with plasma and blood transfusion, before undergoing emergency surgery to remove her spleen.
Fast forward just two weeks, and Sydney is back to being her happy, playful self! 🐾
She recently returned for her final blood tests and post-operative check, and we’re now planning her knee surgery to address the original reason she came to see us. Her tumour has been removed, and we will continue to guide her family with any ongoing treatment recommendations.
Sydney’s journey is a reminder that sometimes the problem we think we’re treating isn’t the biggest one. Thorough examinations and point-of-care ultrasound can uncover hidden, life-threatening conditions that may otherwise go unnoticed.
A huge thank you to Sydney’s wonderful parents for trusting us with her care and for spoiling the entire SAI Vet team with delicious treats. Your kindness means so much to all of us. ❤️
Please join us in wishing Sydney continued good health and a smooth recovery as she prepares for the next step in her journey. 🐶💙

🐾❤️ A Special Reunion for Bella and Her Puppies! ❤️🐾
We were so excited to welcome Bella, the beautiful French Bulldog, and her gorgeous puppies back to the clinic for their first vaccinations!
Not long ago, Bella came into our care for a Caesarean section, helping safely bring her precious litter into the world. Seeing her return with a thriving bunch of healthy, happy puppies was incredibly rewarding for our team.
The puppies were full of personality, cuddles, and cuteness, and we are pleased to report that Bella is doing wonderfully and is back to her usual happy self.
Thank you to Bella's family for trusting us to be part of this special journey. We love watching our patients grow and can't wait to see these little ones again as they continue to flourish! 🐶💕

ANZAC Day: Honouring Animal Heroes
Lest we forget the paws, the hooves, and the wings. 🇦🇺🇳🇿
This ANZAC Day, we honour the silent heroes who served alongside our diggers. From the Waler who endured the desert heat to the donkeys hauling the wounded up Gallipoli’s cliffs, their bravery knew no bounds.
Dogs braved shell holes, camels carried the heavy loads, and pigeons flew through gunfire to deliver life-saving messages. Even kangaroos, koalas, and roosters served as mascots, bringing a piece of home to the chaos of war.
Most never saw Australian soil again. Bound by quarantine, thousands were left behind — a heartbreaking farewell for the men they protected.
Behind these animals stood the Australian Army Veterinary Corps, treating battle wounds and fighting nail injuries that threatened to lame horses on the Western Front.
Today, we remember the thousands of young Australians and New Zealanders who laid down their lives for a cause greater than themselves. They gave their tomorrow so we could have our today.

❤️Lest we forget.

Veterinarians: Guardians of Food & Health
At SAI Veterinary Hospital, we’re proud to stand behind the vets who don’t just care for pets—but protect entire food systems.
From early mornings on farms to safeguarding livestock health, farm veterinarians play a critical role in:
✔️ Keeping animals healthy
✔️ Ensuring safe, sustainable food production
✔️ Protecting communities from disease
They are the first line of defence for both animal welfare and human health.
Today, we celebrate the dedication, resilience, and expertise of veterinarians working in agriculture - often behind the scenes, but always essential.
💚 To the vets in the paddocks, dairies, and feedlots; Thank you for being true guardians of food and health.

🐾✨Big Welcome to Dr Felicia Lim! ✨🐾
We’re so excited to welcome Dr Felicia Lim to the SAI Veterinary Hospital family! 🩺💙
Dr Felicia has an interest in surgery—especially orthopaedics, so your pets are in incredibly skilled hands when it comes to getting them back on their paws 🐶🐾
🐕Outside the clinic, Felicia keeps life fun and active—she loves bouldering 🧗♀️, and proudly holds the title of professional taste tester for her wife’s latest kitchen creations 🍰👩🍳
At home, she’s kept on her toes by her two dogs, Storm & Trooper… although we’ve heard they may have a slight preference for her better half 😅🐕🐕
When she’s not caring for your fur babies, you’ll likely find her eating, sleeping, or trying to keep up with hobbies (heavy emphasis on the first two 😉)
Make sure to say hi and give Dr Felicia a warm SAI welcome next time you’re in! 👋💙
