Lathlain. Where every line follows the pool.

Curves aren't easy in landscaping. They take more time to set out, more skill to build, and no shortcuts. On this project, the planter and steps wrap the entire pool in one continuous sweep, and it changes the whole feel of the space.

The details that make it work: travertine paving underfoot for that soft, natural finish. A breezeblock feature wall on new concrete footings. Castellation cladding behind the pool for depth and texture. Custom pool fencing with straight and curved battens and a frameless glass gate. Irrigation running through the lot, so the planting only gets better from here.

A backyard designed to be lived in, not just looked at.

Timber, stone or concrete?

Your hardscaping choice sets the tone for the whole space, and it has to survive a Perth summer.

Timber. Warm and natural, beautiful underfoot, needs sealing and upkeep.
Natural stone. Premium, stays cooler in the heat, holds its look for decades.
Concrete. Versatile and cost effective, endless finishes, low maintenance.
Composite. The timber look without the upkeep, brilliant around pools.

Save this one for when you start planning.

Gooseberry Hill, transformed from the ground up.

This one was a full-scope build. Before anything you see in this reel existed, there were siteworks, concrete, waste removal, new soakwells and drainage, the unglamorous work that makes everything else last.

Then the layers came together: new brickwork, render and paving. A patio, entertaining deck and custom staircase. Custom pool fencing. Feature pots and water features. Electrical throughout the patio: lights, fans, heaters, plus power for the outdoor kitchen and garden lighting.

And finally the living part. Soil conditioning, irrigation, planting and mulching, so the garden grows into the space rather than just sitting in it.

Design, build and landscaping, one team from start to finish.

Spring is calling 🌸

Here is what we are seeing in WA gardens this season.

Textured natives that can handle our summers
Soft, layered planting instead of rigid rows
One feature tree doing the heavy lifting
Edible pockets tucked into ornamental beds
Warm gravel and stone underfoot

Which one would you plant first? Tell us in the comments.

Watering wrong could be costing your garden 💧

Do water deeply and less often so roots grow down, not sideways.
Do water early in the morning before the heat hits.
Do mulch to hold that moisture in.

Do not water in the middle of the day.
Do not rely on a light daily sprinkle.
Do not wait until January to check your reticulation.

Send this to the friend who waters every single evening.

Not sure if it is time for a refresh?

If your garden has stopped working for the way you actually live, it will usually tell you. Here are five signs it might be time for a redesign.

1. You avoid the backyard instead of using it
2. Plants keep struggling no matter what you try
3. Paving is cracked, uneven or unsafe
4. There is nowhere comfortable to sit or entertain
5. It has not changed since the day you moved in

Sound familiar? A good design fixes all five at once.

Premium stone, hardwood, considered finishes. The specification choices we make on day one determine how a landscape performs decades down the line. Swipe to see why we choose what we choose.
