Mortgage Broker (B.Comm (Accounting) specialising in Mortgages, Commercial & Equipment Finance My Story!!

I have been in finance for over 14 years and previously co – owned a mortgage broking business which I ran for 10 years. Along the way I have helped a variety of home buyers, from first home buyers, investors, international buyers through to just the mum and dad buyers buying their family home. One element I had noticed in this process; was the lack of education that first home buyers received bot

If you’re new here, welcome😊. Thought I’d give you a little snapshot of what you’ll find around here.

A bit about mortgage broker life, little bit of education to help make home loans make sense, travel, coffee and of course food obsessions in between 😊

Glad you’re here.

Free guide for FIFO workers 👇

The reason most FIFO workers get knocked back has nothing to do with how much they earn — it’s how their income gets counted.

Comment “FIFO” and I’ll send you the guide.

Been told your overtime doesn’t count?
Or your bonus... or your casual shifts?
Turns out that’s not always true.

Some lenders will count up to 100% of your overtime, shift allowances, and commission.

Even casual income — in full — over a 46 week period.

The catch? You need to be with the right lender.
Ever had a pre-approval come back lower than you expected? 👇

Don’t refinance the week you fly out.
There’s paperwork, statements, sometimes a lender call to check something.

No signal on site? The whole thing stalls - Start it your first few days home instead 😊

Just landed back from 3 weeks in Canada... and the property market’s gone quiet.

New data shows the average open home is now down to just 2 people through the door.

Does that mean prices are falling? Not necessarily.
A property only ever needs one buyer.

🏠 More time to think
🏠 More room to negotiate
🏠 Less pressure to rush

So while everyone’s watching the headlines... I’m watching the numbers, and they’re telling a different story.

Are we heading into a buyer’s market? What do you reckon 👇

Not everything has to be planned to perfection.

Sometimes you just jump in and enjoy the moment. 💙
A little reminder while I’m away that life moves pretty quickly... don’t spend too long waiting for “one day.”

6-7 degree water - Everyone just gets in 😂

Kind of wish more people felt that way about sorting their mortgage. The water doesn’t get warmer while you wait at the edge, and the decision doesn’t get easier either.

Sometimes you just have to jump.

I wasn’t planning on talking property while on holidays… but these latest Perth property numbers caught my attention. 👀🏡

04/07/2026

On holidays… still checking property prices😂

Turns out you could get a view like this on Vancouver Island for around $880k Australian, while Perth’s median house price is now about $1.1 million.

A few years ago I never thought I’d be saying Perth is more expensive than parts of Canada.

Every market moves in cycles. Some are slowing down, some are still growing. The important thing is knowing what makes sense for you, rather than trying to perfectly time the market.
