without these two dads. 🤍

When I had this crazy idea of starting a business around my love for croissants and coffee, their advice was pretty simple:

Just start.

You don’t need to know everything. No one does when they first begin.

You learn, you make mistakes (A LOT in my case 😂), you figure things out… and somehow, more than 6 years later, here we are.

So this Father’s Day, I’m sitting these two down and feeding them what we’ve created. 🥐☕️

To the two dads who taught me to take the leap before I had everything figured out — thank you.

Three weeks ago I shared that our brunch wasn’t selling.

It caused the BIGGEST DRAMA.

The truth is, one video doesn’t magically fix a business.

What does make a difference is listening.

Listening to customers.
Trying new ideas.
Testing things.
Making changes.
Then doing it all over again.

Over the past week we:
✅ Changed our menu.
✅ Introduced ourselves to our local community.
✅ Finally got our outdoor seating.
✅ Added menus where customers suggested they should be.

Did every single change double our brunch covers?

Probably not.

But together, they helped us go from around 30 brunch covers just a few weeks ago to 70 last Sunday.

Now I’m curious…

He has one simple philosophy…

“If it’s good… how can we make it even better?”

So naturally, he looked at fried chicken and thought…

“What if we made it even crispier?” 🤔

Introducing our new 🍜 Ramen Fried Chicken Focaccia.

Extra crispy ramen-crusted fried chicken, house-made focaccia, and a whole lot of crunch.

This is just one of the many new dishes we’re bringing to our brunch menu, and we’d love to know what you think.

This is probably one of the hardest videos I’ve made as a business owner.

Admitting that something isn’t working is never easy.

After six weeks, our brunch menu is making up less than 18% of our total sales. We could keep hoping things will change… or we can listen, adapt and build something better.

So that’s exactly what we’re doing.

We’re replacing almost our entire brunch menu with dishes that are bigger, bolder and (hopefully!) worth making the trip for.

Now I need your honest opinion.

Honest question...

Should a small business get the opportunity to fix a problem before receiving a one-star review?

As business owners, we know we’re not perfect.

We make mistakes.

Sometimes service is slower than expected.
Sometimes an order isn’t right.
Sometimes we simply have an off day.

When we know about it, we’ll always try our best to make it right.

But when a one-star review is left with no explanation, we lose the opportunity to learn what actually happened.

The review stays there.
Future customers see it.
But we never get the chance to improve the experience for that customer.

At the same time, I completely understand that customers have every right to leave an honest review if they genuinely had a bad experience.

So I’m genuinely curious...
