Our vision is to be the centre of innovation at UWA by providing an environment that enables and empowers students to develop ideas into reality.
At Venture we want to create an environment where the development of ideas is encouraged, a community which accelerates development, building valuable partnerships and sharing of collective wisdom. Our aim is to be a central point of connection of Clubs, Societies and all UWA Students, offering valuable hands-on experiences, ideation, and innovative thinking within the UWA and WA ecosystem. Ultimately, Venture will support student innovation through, grants, idea development opportunities, access to industry experts and to incubator facilities.

Startup Careers Fair
At the Startup Careers Fair, scaling Perth businesses pitch their company, their culture, and the roles they've actually got open, and you can apply right there on the day.

Beyond Traditional Grad Roles — Startup Festival, 1–2PM
Four founders. Four completely different paths.
Dan Jovevski built WeMoney to tackle Australia's $2.3 trillion debt problem, and it wasn't even his first company.
Oliver Bazzani now directs Perth Biodesign, turning clinicians, engineers and students into healthtech founders.
Nathan Wipane is a current UWA student who co-founded Shiine Media, Australia's first rideshare advertising platform, reportedly $1.2M raised.
Tasveer Mann, part of our own 2026 VentureUp cohort, co-founded Iron Flow Solutions, building Rogr — a workforce platform for heavy industry.

In 2025 she was in our incubator. Last week she won up to $1 million.
Huge congratulations to Alison Duguid, founder of North Australian SeaCulture and part of our 2026 VentureOn accelerator cohort, who has just been named winner of Croc Pitch 2026, Northern Australia's premier pitching competition.
Alison is a chemical engineer at UWA. She spotted that many mine sites can't meet their rehabilitation requirements because the soil has been stripped of organic material, and that the fix had been sitting in the ocean the whole time.
NASC cultivates native tropical seaweed and turns it into bio-based soil products. Lab trials show up to 75% higher seed germination against a 50% regulatory benchmark. There are paid trials underway with a major miner, and the first cultivation site is already in the water at Darwin Waterfront Lagoon.
She pitched to a packed room of government, industry, investors and press. The judging was the tightest in Croc Pitch history.
She won.
Alison, this is a brilliant result and we're so proud to have you in the cohort. 👏
