Join us for a special open day at the Railway Museum as we kickoff our Raise the Roof campaign - a vital project to help protect and preserve our irreplaceable collection of Western Australian rail heritage.

Visitors on Sunday 31 May will have the rare opportunity to step behind the scenes of our museum. Small guided groups will be taken beyond the public areas into our restoration and storage spaces - places not normally accessible to visitors - offering a unique look at the work involved in conserving our collection.

These behind-the-scenes tours will run throughout the day and spots on the tour are available for a donation, with all proceeds going directly toward the Raise the Roof campaign.

Your visit helps support two critical goals - installing new roof structures to protect our exhibits from the elements and creating a dedicated workshop space for restoration and conservation work. Every ticket, every donation, and every visit contributes to safeguarding this collection for future generations.

You can explore the rest of the museum at your own pace or upgrade your visit with our Devonshire Teas option (must be pre-booked). We will also have a memorabilia stall and children's activities will be available including Lego and other games.
