We love the access door to the….. underground wine cellar! Oh wait. What?
This show stopping idea by our client has totally paid off. The good ole, it’s a bookcase. that opens. to reveal a hidden underground basement trick certainly is the talk of this house! The drama, the excitement that this brings is only one of the stand out features of this jaw dropping home.
But wait until you go downstairs, lit beautifully by Unios wall lights, a floating staircase by Woodpecker Flooring and the walls wrapped in stunning texture plastered walls to give an underground cellar feel, custom designed wine storage, cobblestone floors by Eco Outdoor , even a fireplace by Paul Agnew Designs . And guess what, NO downlights!!
Give me this room any day or night to hide from my kids and just….. drink. I mean. Sit. And relax 😎

Disclaimer. You won’t win the house. But Honestly? How long do you think?
What would be expected? …. Remember….. every single little detail has to be documented. Not just thought about, or communicated on site, but documented on plans, schedules, changes, amendments, communication across all aspects of the build.
It would be interesting to see how many hours it takes wouldn’t it! Lucky I documented the hours too!
Because the client wanted to create some drama in the home. And what better way than designing a hidden door. But hidden doors aren’t for the faint hearted. The only reason this door is a total success is because of the trades who installed it.
Custom frame, concealed hinges, dedicated roller bolt, we also used a cabinet finger pull as the hidden door handle.
And that cladding!!!!! Precision carpentry and installation made sure this is completely concealed. On the powder room side, a standard lever and painted white door.
Has anyone dared to try and install one of these yourself? I want to know, was it easy?

Hi 👋 we have some amazing new project photos to share with you.
First - probably my fave project so far, Browne Street, Subiaco. About to go on the market for sale, this home was given the restoration, love, and creativity it deserved!
It was a pleasure being given full creative control over this home by our wonderful client (of course they gave us a design brief, but literally said go for it!

Lets be honest, I find this kind of detailing on cabinetry so sexy... My top 5 profiles that I love designing with.
1. Double Bullnose (from our Perth Hills Project)
2. Triple Bullnose, the menage a tua of stone!
3. Fluid, chunky curves
4. Fluted marble edge detailing reminds me of Vienetta icecream. Nostalgic.
5. Lambs Tongue with square edge detail, the more ... the better.
