From 1 July 2026, Support at Home funding amounts have been updated through annual government indexation. For many clients, that means more support available each quarter🩵

Funding now ranges from $11,000 up to $80,000 per year, depending on your classification.

Budgets are released quarterly, and clinical care services such as nursing, physiotherapy and occupational therapy remain fully government-funded on top of your regular budget✅

If you are thinking of getting some extra support with your newly updated funding, now is a great time to check in with your co-care partner to update your care plan.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day - a reminder that every older person deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued 💜

This year, the Beyond Age campaign is asking all of us to shift the way we think and talk about ageing. The way we talk about older people matters and when society treats age as a burden rather than a value, older Australians are put at greater risk of abuse and neglect.

So let's change the conversation, not just today but every day

This Men's Health Week, Australia is encouraging men to stop putting their health on the back burner, with a campaign theme we think says it perfectly: "101 Reasons to See Your GP."

For older Australian men, that message lands differently. Many have spent a lifetime being told that pushing through is just what you do. It is a quality that deserves respect, but when it comes to health, waiting too long can quietly cost more than it should.

As the campaign puts it: "You know what's actually tough? Being strong enough to ask for help."

If there is something that has been sitting in the back of your mind, this week is a good reason to act on it.

Book the GP appointment. Call a family member or a good mate for a proper catch-up. And if things have felt heavier than usual, Lifeline is available around the clock on 13 11 14.
