Sleep Thrive Grow
Sleep Education that supports families to optimise sleep in their home. Hi! My passion for sleep started after I had given birth to my first child back in 2012.
Providing tailored services worldwide to compliment and support the health & well-being of both parent and child through intuitive and responsive parenting approaches. I'm Jen, the founder of Sleep.Thrive.Grow (S.T.G) Consulting, Registered Nurse and proud mother of three. Extremely naive, I left the hospital thinking I had done the hardest part. As long as I made sure my baby was fed and clean the rest would be easy right?! I certainly had a big shock coming! What I didn't expect was my son didn't "just" sleep. I found myself for the first time in a situation where I was completely out of my depth. No one close to me had a baby at this time, so I was lacking someone to seek guidance and advice from. I craved more knowledge to feel confident in my new adventure of motherhood...my soul depended on it! I decided this was time for me to get educated! I did lots of my own research and this is where my passion for sleep began. With the support of my husband, I started implementing what I had learnt, and was just amazed at how my son responded. I was supporting him to sleep well! My confidence grew as a parent as I began to clearly recognise what my baby needed. I felt happy and more in control...my son was happier in himself too! I realised I was meeting both of our needs as individuals without sacrificing life's enjoyments. He needed my guidance and I was able to give that to him in a gentle and supportive way. By the time I had my second and third child, I had grown as a mother and in my ability of practicing healthy sleep! My three children are all unique with different temperaments and preferences, but the knowledge I gained allowed me to adapt my method in order to support them the way that they needed. Helping others has always come naturally to me in my nursing career, my empathy is next level and I cannot help but want the best for others. This lead me to become an Internationally Certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant which furthered my knowledge on sleep assisting methods and and the science behind sleep. It was during this time S.T.G Consulting was born! Here at S.T.G we believe sleep to be an essential component in allowing the whole family to thrive and grow together. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge and confidence to evolve as a parent, and equip you with the skills and information you need to support your child's sleep throughout their natural developmental changes. I am so excited to be able to share my passion with others through my coaching programs and to help you and your family towards achieving, healthy and harmonious sleep. Your child doesn’t need to fit into someone else’s version of what sleep should look like. If you’ve been lead to believe there is a “right way” to support sleep, after almost 7 years working as a sleep consultant I’m here to reassure you that there isn’t.
Meeting your child and your family where you’re at right now, their temperament, their sensitivity, your capacity, your values and your season of life can make the whole sleep process feel less stressful and far more sustainable and that’s what counts most.
SleepThriveGrow
We’re often sold the idea that if we’ve ticked all the boxes, fed, clean, changed, tired, sleep should just naturally follow.
But sleep itself is a transition, a journey, not an instruction we say and can make anyone do.
Even as adults, we don’t simply decide it’s bedtime, close our eyes and instantly switch off. We have our own rituals, conditions and ways of winding down.
Now imagine doing that with a nervous system that’s still developing, while the person who represents so much of your safety is beginning to move away.
Feeling safe enough to let go is a bit of an art. And that’s why I want parents to understand sleep beyond simply “How do I get my baby to sleep?”
My 4–12 Month Sleep Course is coming soon helping you understand sleep beyond sleep training, learn your baby’s language and support their growing capacity with confidence.

Between 4–12 months, there is so much growth happening 🌱
Movement💛Communication 💛Awareness 💛Attachment 💛 Regulation 💛 Sleep 💛
So when sleep suddenly shifts, it doesn’t automatically mean something has gone wrong, or that you need to rush in and “fix” it.
Sometimes, what you need most is the confidence to sit in a little bit of the messiness, ride the wave and ask ⤵️
What is changing for my baby right now?
And sometimes, you need an expansion of your tools.
Not because what you were doing before was wrong, but because your baby has changed and the support they need may need to change alongside them.
That’s exactly what my 4–12 Month Sleep Course is designed to give you.
An understanding of the biology and development behind sleep, the confidence to read your baby, and a bigger toolbox for those moments when what used to work, suddenly doesn’t.
Less fear that you’re creating “bad habits.”
Less pressure to get sleep perfect.
More understanding of what’s happening and what you can do next.
Coming soon 💛
We’re not going to change your baby’s biology.
Babies are wired for proximity. For closeness. For co-regulation. That is a given.
So when I work with a family who wants to move towards more solo sleep, my goal is never to teach their baby that they no longer need them.
It’s to WORK WITH that biology.
Because once we understand and embrace the need for proximity, we can start thinking differently about separation.
We can create repeated experiences that communicate ⤵️
Nothing has been lost between us because there is space between us.
You can need me, and I will respond.
You can move between closeness and separation and still feel safe.
That messaging happens in so many ways, through predictable responses, familiar sleep cues, our voice, touch, presence, the way we leave and reunite, and how we support regulation when separation feels hard.
Over time, those repeated experiences can build familiarity and safety around sleeping in a separate sleep space.
Not because we’ve trained away their need for connection.
But because we’ve supported their growing capacity to experience some separation while staying connected within the relationship.
And equally, if co-sleeping is working beautifully for your family, I’m not here to convince you that solo sleep is the goal.
This is why I don’t prescribe one version of “good sleep.”
I work with biology, development, regulation, relationship and the actual humans in front of me.
That’s where sustainable sleep support starts.

The information within this course is designed to provide education, guidance and support around normal infant sleep, regulation, development and responsive settling approaches.
This course was created to help you understand newborn sleep without fear, pressure or extremes.
And yes… there’s a lot of YOU in it.
Because you matter here too.
Your voice. Your touch. Your instincts. Your relationship with your baby. Your ability to notice, respond, try something, soften into the beauty and chaos, change your mind and try something else.
You don’t need to become your baby’s sleep expert. You don’t need to get every nap “right”. And you definitely don’t need to spend the newborn months worrying that cuddles, contact naps or feed to sleep is creating a problem you’ll have to fix later.
I want to take some of that pressure away.
To help you understand what’s normal, what your newborn is actually capable of, and how you can support sleep in ways that feel responsive and sustainable for your family.
Less second-guessing. Less fear. More understanding, confidence and trust.
Not teaching your newborn how to sleep (nature has this covered 🌱). Helping you understand what they need to feel safe enough to find it. 💛

We’re so quick to skip straight to the strategy.
The wake windows. The naps. The settling. The “how do I get my baby to sleep?”
But before strategy comes foundation.
Understanding your newborn. Their biology. Their cues. Their nervous system. The relationship and safety they borrow from you while they’re still learning to regulate.
Because sleep isn’t just something we make happen. It’s something we can help our babies feel safe enough to find.
If you want to truly understand your newborn’s sleep without strict rules or rigid schedules. The Newborn Course is for you.

What if better sleep didn’t require you to stop responding… but helped you become more confident in how you respond?
There is so much noise around baby sleep that somewhere along the way, parents can start losing trust.
Trust in their baby.
Trust in themselves.
Trust that they can try something different without somehow getting it wrong.
And that fear can keep you doing something that is no longer working for your family simply because the alternative feels too extreme.
But it doesn’t have to be.
There is a whole middle ground where we can support sleep AND grow capacity.
Rather than learning how to control sleep, we can learn how to:
💛recognise our baby’s state
💛understand what they might need from us
💛build an abundance of co-regulation strategies
💛expand what feels safe at sleep time
💛create secure foundations through repetition
💛support them through the tricky moments
💛gradually offer opportunities to practice regulation with our support
Sometimes your baby will need more from you. Sometimes less.
The goal isn’t to respond exactly the same way every single time.
It’s to know your baby well enough to meet them where they are.
We guide and support our children as they grow in every other area of life. Sleep doesn’t need to be any different.
This is relational leadership at sleep time.
Not controlling. Not abandoning. Not waiting until you’re completely burnt out because you’re too scared to change anything.
Guiding. Supporting. Practicing. Growing.🌱
And hopefully, amongst all that noise, helping you find your way back to trusting yourself and the little human in front of you. 💛

Sometimes staying where we are is uncomfortable. And sometimes growing is uncomfortable too. That was the real parallel for me today.
I could keep avoiding the treadmill because my capacity had been low and it felt daunting again…or I could take one small, realistic step towards something I knew mattered to me.
I think sleep support can feel like this too.
Sometimes we’re in a season where support is low, capacity is stretched and what is getting everyone through is exactly what needs to happen.
Then something shifts.
We get more support.
We understand our baby’s sleep more deeply.
We feel more confident reading what they need and trusting their growth too.
And suddenly we have a little more capacity to explore something new.
Not removing every tool.
Not leaving our baby to figure it out.
Not deciding something needs to be “fixed.”
Maybe we keep the tool that works and add another one.
Maybe we offer a tiny opportunity to experience settling differently while staying right there to support them.
Maybe we simply get curious about what our baby might be ready for now.
This is the middle ground I talk about so often.
Growth doesn’t have to mean pushing our babies beyond what they can handle. It can happen through:
Development.
Repeated experiences of safety.
Opportunities to practice regulating into sleep differently.
And support matters for parents too.
Because sometimes having someone beside you, helping you understand what’s happening and reminding you that you don’t need to climb the whole mountain today, creates enough safety for you to take that next step too.
We’re human. Our babies are human. We grow, adapt and evolve.
And sometimes the next step really can be that small. 💛
Maybe you’ve been thinking about sleep support, but something has been holding you back.
Maybe you don’t want to sleep train.
You don’t want to stop responding.
And you definitely don’t need another list of rules telling you what your baby “should” be doing.
There is another way.
My work is rooted in nervous system regulation, attachment, development and real life with real humans.
Because sleep support should include YOU too.
When you’re exhausted, touched out or running on very little capacity, it’s incredibly hard to keep responding from a place of confidence. So we come back to the foundations: understanding your baby, strengthening co-regulation, supporting regulation around sleep and gently growing capacity over time.
Not chasing perfect sleep.
Not removing support for the sake of independence.
But helping you understand what you’re seeing, know what you can change, and trust yourself when sleep inevitably shifts again.
That’s what developmentally responsive sleep support means to me.
You can work with me 1:1 from anywhere in the world, see me in person at Baby Steps Health in Perth, learn through my Newborn Sleep Course, with my 4–12 Month Course coming soon, or invite me to speak at your event or parent community.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence because traditional sleep support hasn’t felt like you, maybe this is what you’ve been looking for.
My DMs are always open 💛

When a sleep plan includes you too.
So many of us weren’t raised with emotional coaching or taught how to understand and regulate our own nervous systems… and then we’re thrown into parenting and expected to somehow know how to do this with our kids, CONSTANTLY.
Faarrkk! That’s a lot of pressure.
When I say my programs go beyond sleep, this is what I mean.
I have such a passion for helping parents understand their own nervous system, build capacity, and grow the trust and confidence to be the steady leader their child needs not perfectly, but with awareness.
Because sometimes the sleep struggle is the doorway, but the work becomes so much bigger than sleep.
For Helen and Matt, this wasn’t just a sleep shift. It was a shift in how they understood themselves, their child, and what they were capable of together.
That’s the stuff that truly lights me up. 💛
