🏖️ Our Brand-New Sandpit! 🏖️

This morning, our Kindy children were so excited to be welcomed by our brand-new sandpit! 🥰

This sparked a lovely conversation about how we can respect, care for and look after our new environment. The children shared their ideas, thoughts and drawings, which we captured together in our floor book. ✏️💭

We are already absolutely loving our new sandpit and have enjoyed so many wonderful moments of play, creativity and discovery today! 🏖️☀️

We can’t wait to see all the special memories, friendships and adventures our Kindy children create together in this new space. ❤️

Today, as part of our Djilba season learning, the children explored painting using native flowering plants and gold paint on trays.

They also enjoyed a beautiful flower water sensory experience, inspired by the colours and changes we see during the Noongar season of Djilba. 🌿🌼

A lovely way to explore nature, creativity and sensory play together. 💛

Matisse Father’s Day Afternoon 💙
What an exciting Father’s Day afternoon at Matisse, celebrating the special fathers and special people in our lives! 🎉
Our afternoon was filled with creativity, connection and lots of hands-on fun. From making meat rubs and key rings to getting stuck into our construction area, there were plenty of exciting experiences to enjoy.

It was wonderful to see the smiles, laughter and special moments shared throughout the afternoon. Thank you to all the families and special people who joined us and helped make the day so memorable! 💙🔨✨

Today we explored emotions throughout the service. The children enjoyed talking about different feelings, singing emotion songs and making lots of funny faces as they copied the different emotions. 😊

It was a lovely reminder that all feelings are okay and that it’s important to talk about how we feel and check in with the people around us.

Our educators also enjoyed some little treats today as a reminder to check in with each other - R U OK? 💛

We have had a positive start to Child Protection Week at Matisse.

This is such an important week for us to talk with children about feeling safe, being heard, respecting our bodies and knowing who we can talk to when we need help.

Over the past few days, we have been:
💜 Talking about different feelings and emotions
💜 Talking about our safe people
💜 Practising asking for permission
💜 Reading books about our bodies, feelings and safety
💜 Supporting our infants through respectful and caring interactions

These simple conversations and everyday experiences help children feel confident, safe and respected.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations throughout the week. 💜

Knowing that our educators are appreciated, valued and making a difference in the lives of your children means more than you know.

And a huge thank you to the family who spoiled our team with the yummiest treats! 🥰 They certainly didn’t last long!

We feel incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated, passionate and caring team of educators, and even more grateful to have a community of families who support, encourage and celebrate them alongside us.

Our educators give so much of themselves each and every day — and today was a beautiful reminder that what they do is seen and appreciated. 💕

🍪 Little Bakers in Action! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Our Tinys had a wonderful afternoon getting busy in the kitchen! They enjoyed making their very own cookies, getting hands-on with the ingredients and proudly creating their tasty treats. 🥣✨

Of course, the best part was sitting down together and enjoying their delicious cookies for afternoon tea! 😋🍪
