If you’re uncommon amongst common people, you’re in the wrong place

Let that sink in 💭

Meet Big Zu, the baddest company car you’ll ever see. He joined the family a couple weeks ago and I’ve just been keeping it on the down-low (until now)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I bought my first car I borrowed money from my parents and paid it back over months of working at a fish n chip shop in high school.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My second car? An old Land Rover spray painted matte black, I bought off 2 backpackers because it was dirt cheap and I needed something to get around in while I searched for a van to live in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then the van came along and I unloaded my bank account (a whole $3000) to buy it and make it fit for travel... then I ran out of money and just floated around my home town waiting for a bigger opportunity to come along 🤷♂️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is the first car I’ve genuinely wanted to own. Not a cheap clapped out bomb I snagged just for the convenience of saving some money. I’d been living with a ‘scarcity’ mindset for too long, and my belongings (cars included) were a reflection of this limiting mindset.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2020 things are shifting. Money stories I believed as a kid are slowly being released and man, it feels good.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Moral of this story?

One from the Cocos archives. Things are changing and so is my feed... I’ve been holding onto the ‘travel content creator’ persona for far too long and the reality is, that’s not really an accurate representation of my life anymore 🤷♂️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sure, I love to travel, and i’ll be travelling a lot more but not in the near future. Right now it’s head down putting in work, and pretty pictures just aren’t gonna cut it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I want to share raw stuff. Artsy snaps, entrepreneurial thoughts, a deeper look into my life and journey so far 🙏
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All of this and more coming real soon. Thanks for sticking with me fam ✌️

A friendly reminder that you are exactly where you need to be, learning exactly what you need to be learning.

It might not make sense for you right now, but it makes sense. Smile, embrace the challenges and keep putting one foot in front of the other, you got this ✌️

Hey, it’s been a while.. Almost 6 months actually.
A lot has changed, as you can probably guess, and a lot didn’t go to plan, but 2019 has been a big year for me in more ways than 1...
In Jan/Feb I was living in Bali with a mentor, soaking up as much knowledge and advice as I could
In March I moved to Perth for the first time, while Amy finished her last year at Uni. I worked alone at home (mostly) earning much less than the hours I was putting in.
Recognised that I had a lot of limiting beliefs that were holding me back. Stories that I had been telling myself all my life, particularly around money and not feeling worthy of being paid more than the bare minimum.
Started pushing through those money stories and saw start to take off
Made some great connections in Perth
Built relationships with some epic brands, and really took the time to learn about e-commerce as a whole.
Built a bigger audience on TikTok in 2 months than I had on Instagram in 3 years 🤷♂️
Moved over to the Cocos Islands to spend time with family after almost a year away
Realised that routine and discipline are SO important, especially when surrounded with a lot of temptations and ‘fun’ activities
Got to know some incredible people, and made lifelong friendships 🙏
..And now planning for an even bigger 2020 🎉
My biggest takeaway from this year would be to not overlook mindset. And I’m not just talking about limiting beliefs, or reading books that get you motivated.
I’m talking ground level stuff.. f**k FOMO off and stop drinking every weekend. Buy a bloody good pillow and sleep 8 hours a night. Spend less time with old friends who haven’t changed and more time with go-getters and visionaries. Be happy to be alone at times. Start operating out of abundance, not scarcity.
2019 has taught me a lot. 2020 will teach more a lot more. Bring it on 💯

From the wintery greens to the red dirt.. Sometimes a change in scenery is all it takes to re-kindle the fire inside 🔥

Back when the only decision I had to make in the morning was which scooter had more chance of getting to the surf and back without blowing up 😂🏄

No phones, no concept of time, simply living. How it should be ✌️

It fascinates me how attached people get to the 'old' version of you.. As if assuming that you're never going to change or grow 🌱
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Humans are constantly evolving, just some are changing faster than others. Each on their own journey.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's up to you to decide whether you're ready to let go...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let go of the fear of judgement
Let go of the negative influences
Let go of the current version of yourself
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And lean in to positive change.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It won't happen overnight, and you'll probably repeat this process 100x over but it'll be a hell of a lot more fulfilling than doing nothing and wondering where you went wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Currently boarding a flight outta Aus. Wish I could say we're headed back to Cocos but Bali's gonna have to do... Looking forward to a month of networking, growth, good vibes and putting up with and the crew. 👊

I feel like the last few years have each been the start of a year of opportunity, but there's something special about 2019. Almost as if everything I've done and everything I've worked towards will finally come together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A word that has continued to show up over the last couple of weeks is 'limitless', which I feel is a reminder that upper limits are going to be pushed, and new heights achieved - unbound by any limiting beliefs I've grown up believing... Such a powerful notion when you really think about it.
Here's to a limitless 2019 insta fam, hope you'll crush it too 🍻👊

Island time - where curfews don't exist, peak hour traffic is unheard of and early mornings become a thing because it's liberating, not because you're getting up to go to a job. 💭
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's on island time that I operate at my highest level, unconstrained from the pressure of deadlines and stress... Often improving the environment that you live in is the best way to to shift your mindset, and from there... Well, life will never be the same.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you're contemplating making a big change in your life, this is a sign. Don't look back 👊
