Big congratulations to STRUT Members Jo Omodei, Harrison Cook and Shaun Johnston, whose works are travelling beyond WA and meeting new audiences.

Jo recently took As The Edges Soften to Sydney for the OUTSET Choreography Awards, Harrison presented MATA MATA in New Zealand at the Pōneke Festival of Contemporary Dance, and Shaun is taking The Scramble to Brisbane Festival (which, if you’re in Brisbane, you should definitely go see).

Each work has been developed through STRUT and STRUT-supported programs, alongside the support of other brilliant arts organisations, communities and collaborators. We’re so proud to see these artists spreading WA dance across the country and beyond. Go on!

Dance Makers Collective are currently touring their latest major work All In - an uplifting, immersive experience that celebrates the richness and power of dance as a community unifier. Whilst on their WA leg of the tour, the company will share its process for developing the work and share insights into the touring model which involves the coming together of local dance groups in each town it visits.

That’s a wrap on the first round of taster workshops for Mudh - our community dance project with Sonya Stephen.

Where will you join us? Mudh is STRUT’s next major community dance project, bringing women from diverse cultural backgrounds together to explore belonging and home through movement. Led by creative movement artist Sonya Stephen, the project will grow through a series of workshops before culminating in a performance in November 2026.

Following our first gathering in North Perth, free taster workshops are still coming up in Mirrabooka and Victoria Park. Swipe to find the location and time that works for you.

❓ Do I need dance experience?
Not at all. The movement will be adapted to suit different bodies, abilities and levels of experience.

❓ How many taster workshops should I attend?
As many as you want! But you only need to attend one to get a feel for it.

❓ Do I have to commit to the full project?
No. The taster is a relaxed opportunity to experience the project before deciding whether you’d like to continue.
