Hi everyone,
Brendan and I are the owners of Skill Safe Training Group, a new Perth-based training company backed by years of experience delivering training for other organisations across mining, safety and industry.
We started SkillSafe because we kept seeing the same issue: people needing tickets renewed or completed, but struggling to get time away from work during normal business hours.
So we’re offering after-hours LVR/CPR training designed around people who are actually working on the tools.
Our first after-hours session is next Wednesday from 6:00pm–7:30pm.
If you’re an electrician or industry worker who needs LVR/CPR but can’t justify losing work during the day, this is exactly why we’ve set these sessions up.
We can also organise private courses for groups of 3 or more, and we offer training across First Aid, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Gas Testing, White Card, Fire Warden, Machine VOCs and more.
New company. Years of industry and training experience behind it. Flexible delivery that works around real jobs. Check out our website or the booking link below if you are interested!

We’re excited to share a new collaboration with the PGMS Perth Gem & Mineral Show, proudly presented by the Mineralogical Society of Western Australia.
We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to sponsor and partner with an event that brings together industry, education, community and a genuine passion for minerals and geology.
For SkillSafe Training Group, partnerships like this are about more than just having our name attached to an event, they’re about supporting local organisations, building strong industry connections and contributing to events that bring people together.
A huge thank you to the team behind the Perth Gem & Mineral Show for welcoming Skill Safe on board. We’re looking forward to working together and being part of what promises to be a fantastic event.

Everyone starts somewhere and understanding how to work safely is a strong place to begin.
Teaching White Card to people new to the construction industry means making safety practical: recognising hazards, understanding site signage, using PPE and knowing when to stop and ask for help.
We encourage questions and use real workplace examples so learners can connect what they’re learning to what they’ll encounter on site.
You’re not expected to know everything on your first day. Knowing your responsibilities and speaking up when something doesn’t look safe makes a difference.

Shutdown wrapping up. Fresh experience coming back to the classroom.
Our SkillSafe trainers are finishing their latest round of mining site work, training and professional development—keeping their skills connected to the environments our students work in.
Working within shutdown operations reinforces the practical realities of permits, isolations, working at heights, confined spaces and coordinating safely around plant and equipment.
That experience comes back into our courses through relevant examples, practical discussions and a clear understanding of workplace expectations.
Our trainers keep learning, so our students benefit.

Inspections aren’t just a box-ticking exercise — they’re a critical part of a statutory supervisor’s role.
Effective inspections help identify hazards early, verify controls are working, and make sure work is being carried out safely and in line with site and legislative requirements.
At SkillSafe Training Group, our trainers don’t just deliver WA Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor training — they actively maintain their own industry currency through ongoing professional development and practical safety activities.
We believe the people teaching supervisors should understand what good supervision looks like in the real world, not just what is written in a workbook.
Practical Training. Safety. Security.

Training should reflect the industry as it is now — not how it looked years ago.
This week, our trainers are heading to Newman for mining-focused professional development, site exposure and training delivery.
One of the biggest issues in vocational training is trainers becoming disconnected from the industries they teach. Qualifications and experience matter, but so does recent, relevant, real-world industry currency.
At SkillSafe Training Group, we make a deliberate effort to keep our trainers current. That means getting back into mining environments, working alongside industry, maintaining practical skills, seeing how systems and procedures are actually being applied on site, and bringing that experience straight back into the classroom.
We don’t want our trainers teaching from outdated examples or relying solely on what they did years ago.
Our learners deserve trainers who understand the realities of today’s workplace.
Current industry experience. Practical training. Better outcomes.
