Silverchain
Silverchain is the future of care, and we’ve been leading these discoveries for more than a century.
We believe everyone deserves the right to be treated at home for as long as they choose. From wellbeing as you age to acute care at any age, we’re there. We provide complete health and aged care services in your home and in the community so you can have the choice in where you receive your care. Our 130-year history as pioneers in homecare means we are always seeking innovative new ways to offer the best care: world-class, backed by our research and with your needs and preferences at the heart of everything we do. We are distinguished by quality and safety; the best care offered to every client, every time. We lead future advancements in home care through our own and co-designed research, and development of innovations in technology. We advocate for a client’s right to choose where they receive their health care and champion their dignity, choice and independence. We care for the things our clients care about and we celebrate diversity in all its forms.

On International Day of Older Persons, Silverchain hosted some of our wonderful clients and dedicated care team in Canberra for morning tea with the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors Sam Rae.
The Minister highlighted the Federal Government's change to Support at Home to ensure Personal Care services no longer require a co-contribution from clients, which comes into effect from 1 October 2026.
Thank you Minister Rae for sharing local stories and memories, hearing from some of our clients about their experience in Support at Home, and recognising our amazing aged care teams who ensure older people receive the care and services they need to support their dignity, independence and participation in the community.

Thinking about in-home aged care for yourself or someone close to you?
The right support can help make everyday life easier while supporting independence, wellbeing and the things you enjoy. It may include help with household tasks, personal care or managing your health.
Start by thinking about what support would make a difference. Talking with family, friends or your GP can also help you understand your options and plan for the future.
Silverchain is here to help you get started with care at home.

People like James often don’t have anyone else they can turn to when things get tough, but this time he had you.
After spending eight years caring for his late mother and living with his own complex health conditions James has been hit hard by the increased cost of living.
During a home visit, James revealed to his Silverchain social worker Jacinta that he was struggling to afford both his medications and weekly groceries.
Thanks to donations to Silverchain Foundation, Jacinta could offer James a one-off grocery voucher to help him get through this very tough time.
Jacinta said it was wonderful to see the visible relief come over James when she gave him the voucher, and she is very grateful to the donors who made it possible.
Donations to Silverchain Foundation provide support for some of our most vulnerable clients who have no-one else to turn to in their time of greatest need.
You can help more people like James with a donation to Silverchain Foundation.

This week is Include a Charity Week, a time to celebrate the amazing impact that Australians make every day through leaving a gift in their Wills. It can also be an opportunity to consider your own legacy.
After considering your loved ones, leaving a gift in your Will is a powerful way to help create positive impact for future generations in line with your own values.
By leaving a gift in your Will to Silverchain Foundation you can help invest in new technologies like smart glasses, a device that makes specialist consultations for regional and remote clients possible from the comfort of home, or fund new research to reduce unplanned hospitalisations for older Australians.
It can also help us deliver programs such as our virtual Lunch Club which is tackling loneliness for people who live remotely or are who are unable to easily leave their homes.
