It's looking so good! Brand-new pathways, steps and viewing decks are now open at Elephant Rocks in William Bay National Park...and they look great!
Work is still underway at Greens Pool, with new beach access steps and a boardwalk currently being built, but you can still access Greens Pool via a temporary detour along the new Elephant Rocks pathways.
A big thank you to everyone for your patience while these improvements have been taking place. We can't wait for you to enjoy them!

We're excited to welcome you back to Danggu (Geikie Gorge) National Park when it reopens tomorrow, Saturday 3 October.
After extensive recovery efforts, following the 2023 Fitzroy River floods, you are invited to experience the spectacular gorge and rich cultural heritage that makes this place so special.
Please note that the floods significantly changed parts of the park, and some facilities are still being restored. We ask you to take care, follow signage and respect any areas that remain closed while recovery works continue.
A huge thank you to Traditional Owners, the local community, contractors and Parks and Wildlife staff who have helped make this reopening possible.

We won! 🎉 But the real winners are the people who get to experience these places.
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions recently received FOUR awards at the 2026 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects WA Awards. The award winning projects are:
• Mangrove Cove in Kalgulup Regional Park
• Beacon Island in Houtman Abrolhos Islands National Park and
• Torndirrup National Park.
These thoughtfully designed experiences help visitors connect with nature, culture and history, while preserving the unique character of each place for future generations.
Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing these outstanding visitor experiences to life.👏🏼

Yanchep National Park's koala family is growing!
Franklin Doogsie and Poppy have welcomed an adorable new addition and we would like you to help name them.
Next time you visit, cast your vote at the McNess House Visitor Centre by dropping a token into one of four koala feeding tubes. The name with the most votes will be announced after the spring school holidays!
Choose from:
Karla – an Aboriginal word meaning "fire"
Scout – for a curious little explorer always venturing beyond the pouch
Pembi – honouring former Yanchep Senior Ranger John Wheeler, who hailed from Pemberton
Ash – inspired by the koala's scientific name, which translates to "ash-coloured pouched bear"
