This week, we are flying the flag for MATES in Construction.

Fly the Flag Week is a chance to recognise the work MATES does to raise awareness of mental health and su***de prevention across our industry. We will be flying the flag at our construction sites and office to show our support.

It is a chance to recognise the people within our industry who do the quiet, important work of supporting those around them.

We are thrilled to congratulate Yusuf Acir, named Master Builders Western Australia First Year Apprentice of the Year! 🏆

Yusuf started with us on a construction traineeship and is now well into his fabrication apprenticeship, where he has continued to learn and develop his skills on the tools. This award reflects the commitment and hard work he has put in since day one.

Congratulations also to our welding and metalwork apprentice, Justin Guya, who was a finalist for the Fourth Year Apprentice of the Year. Well-deserved recognition for the technical ability and work ethic he has brought to our team.

The future is looking great for them both!

Welder / Fabricator (MIG and TIG) 🥽

Employment Type: Casual

We are seeking an experienced welder / fabricator skilled in MIG and TIG welding to join our team. The ideal candidate will be trade qualified, able to work from drawings and produce high-quality fabrication work to a professional standard. This role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works efficiently and understands fabrication tolerances and welding best practices.

About you:

✅ Trade Certificate in Engineering (fabrication / welding) or equivalent.
✅ Minimum 5 years' proven experience in MIG and TIG welding.
✅ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work to fabrication tolerances.
✅ Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
✅ Strong understanding of fabrication processes, workshop safety and quality control.
✅ Able to work both independently and within a team.
✅ Valid driver's licence preferred.
