AI is creating jobs as well as erasing them โ€“ but how rewarding are they? 30/09/2026

AI is sparking plenty of debate this week! Are you using AI for work? Or would you like to? Or are you simply not sure?

Some see enormous potential, while others are concerned about misinformation, job impacts and the loss of human connection. The reality is likely somewhere in between, making informed and thoughtful use of these tools more important than ever.

Beyond the headlines and hype, AI raises important questions. How do we use it responsibly? How do we maintain trust and authenticity? And how can we benefit from new technology without losing the human voice that matters most? These are conversations worth having.

On 29 October, we'll host a practical workshop exploring how people in not for profits, advocacy and small businesses can use AI thoughtfully, effectively and ethically. Expect real world examples, hands on learning and tools you can start using straight away (see link in comments ๐Ÿ‘‡).

AI is creating jobs as well as erasing them โ€“ but how rewarding are they? One area of burgeoning employment is in people cleaning up โ€˜workslopโ€™.

The most respectful language often depends on the individual, the condition, and the context. While some people prefer person first language, others strongly identify with identity first language.

A recent study explored how person first and identity first expressions have been used across 15 mental health, disability, and health conditions over the past 45 years. It's an interesting read for anyone looking to communicate with greater respect, understanding, and inclusion.
