Stop creating more content. Do this instead.

The biggest mistake I see business owners make is publishing new pages before they've squeezed anything out of the ones they already have. And the free tool that tells you exactly which pages to fix first is already sitting in your Google account.

It's Google Search Console.

Open the Performance report. Sort by impressions. You're looking for keywords already getting seen but not generating clicks. Or pages sitting on page one but not in the top spots.

That's your low-hanging fruit.

Here's what to do with those pages, in this order.

First, open the page and read it like a customer. Does it answer the question in the first 100 words, or bury it under 500 words of waffle? Move the answer up.

Second, add what AI tools can't easily generate. A real example, a local data point, a price range, a customer quote.

Third, update the page date and resubmit it through Search Console. Google reads "fresh" as "still relevant."

Do this on your top five underperforming pages this month. Click-through rates usually lift within three weeks.

Quick test: open ChatGPT and ask it for the top three businesses in your category in your suburb.

If your business isn't listed, that's a growing share of buyers walking past you without ever opening Google.

The good news? The fix isn't complicated. Brad walks through the 30-second test (and the reverse-engineering step most people miss) in the video.

You keep hearing about authority and trust signals. But what does that actually mean for your business?

Here are three things you can start today.

1. Get people searching for your business by name. Run PR, post consistently on social, appear on podcasts, speak at events. Anything that gets your brand in front of more people.
2. Focus on mentions, not just backlinks. Industry publications, local news, directories. And don't forget your existing network. A mention from a supplier, partner, or industry association can be just as valuable as most link-building tactics.
3. Ask customers for detailed reviews. Not just "leave us a review." Ask them to name the service, the problem you solved, and the outcome. Specific beats generic every time.

These are the signals Google's actually using now to decide whether your business is trusted.

Which one are you weakest on?

60% of Google searches now end without a single click. Here's why that matters for your business 👇

Google's AI Overview pulls answers from real websites and serves them up at the top of the page. So your content might be doing all the work, while you get none of the traffic.

The good news? You can position your business to be the one cited.

The bad news? It's not the same as ranking #1 anymore.

Join me at the Fremantle Chamber on 9 July for a free session on exactly how to do it.

Proud moment in Sydney last week 🏆

We took home Best Use of AI Content at the APAC Search Awards for our work with Discovery Alert.

This wasn’t about “AI for the sake of AI”. It was about building the right content framework first, then scaling it properly.

The result?
From 600 organic visits a month to exponential growth in under a year.

Huge credit to the team behind this and to clients who trust us to do things properly, not just quickly.
