.scrapper amazes us once again with her exceptional layout she has created, to see how she has put her delightful page together see below for all the details.

This layout features my beautiful granddaughter and celebrates the simple joys of childhood, reminding us that the most beautiful moments are often the most genuine. She has such a gentle spirit and an authentic smile that always brighten my day. Capturing moments like these is a reminder that true beauty shines from within. The title perfectly reflects how much happiness my precious granddaughter brings to my life.
For this design, I began by priming all the chipboard pieces with white acrylic paint before colouring them with a sponge brush and Americana Acrylic Paints. This gave each element a smooth base and allowed the colours to appear vibrant while maintaining a soft, natural look.
The Botanical Ringlet was cut in half and tucked beneath the layered photo. The gorgeous title, butterflies, tiny daisies, and sweet birdcage were highlighted with several coats of a white Posca Pen, giving them a clean, crisp finish that allows them to stand out beautifully against the softer background tones.
To create contrast and add visual balance, I incorporated black engraved Wordpl@y phrases. These are always among my favourite embellishments, as they naturally draw the eye and add meaningful sentiments to the page.
To complete the design, I added art stones for subtle dimension and finished everything with delicate white gesso splatters, bringing softness, texture, and a touch of mixed-media charm to the finished page.

πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘Our Queen of Mixed Media strikes again! - Join as she shares her inspiration for the latest MDF project she has created. See below how she has used a majestic symbol for inspiration.

My last MDF Art project - Circle - Contrast

This circle inspired me to create a Yin-Yang project. I chose the contrasts of colorful and monochrome.

Yin Yang is an ancient symbol from Chinese philosophy that represents balance and harmony between opposite yet interconnected forces. Yin is associated with calmness, darkness, and reflection, while Yang symbolizes energy, light, and action. Together, they remind us that opposites are not in conflict but work together to create balance in life and nature.

I think this is a really interesting topic that makes you think.

This certainly wasn't my last project on this topic. What contrasts would you choose?

Kerstin

Join as she shares how to colour the amazing chipboard pieces ...

Flash back project to 2013, which showcases two of my favourite ways of using chipboard. The first one is as a background, using the gorgeous peacock feathers, adhered directly to the book, I have then used liquid pearls in peacock colours to add a beautiful metallic patina, and dimension all in one.
Then to the side I have embossed the oval frame, with chunky gold embossing powder, yet another way to add a polished surface to common chipboard.
I still have this book today and it has withstood the passage of time and use.

See how .scrapper has created her exceptional layout that she shares with us below ...

This layout features my handsome grandson. Boys often dislike posing for photos because it feels unnatural to them, which is why I treasure moments like this. I love how this page captures a rare, sweet smile and celebrates a little boy who is truly a Nature Lover.
I created two generous chipboard clusters to frame the photo, filled with layered flowers, foliage, ferns, and toadstools. Behind the layered photo, I added a barb wire frame to create extra depth and a rustic woodland feel.
The barb wire frame was first primed with black gesso and then painted in rich rust tones. For the poppy heads, stump, and toadstools, I applied a few layers of clear gesso before colouring them with Distress Oxides in Black Soot, Barn Door, and Walnut Stain. I pressed the ink pads onto a craft mat and spritzed them with water to create small droplets. I started with Walnut Stain as the base colour, sliding the chipboard pieces through the ink several times and drying them with a heat tool between layers. I repeated the process with the remaining colours, then splattered a little water onto the pieces for a mottled, organic finish and edged them with black ink.
The title, foliage, leaves, and Wordpl@y were painted with acrylic paint to complement the natural colour palette. To finish the layout, I added art stones and splatters of white gesso for extra texture and softness.

shares her amazing layout with us today starting with the large 12x12 Dots circle stencil then adding Dusty Attic Pet chipboard to embellish her magical page ...

Today I’ve done a layout of my dog Benson. I started by using the stencil and some black texture paste in the background. I then used a rusty coloured ink for the clockworks chipboard. The rest of the chipboard I coloured using my Prismacolour Pencils. I also added some glossy accents over some of the pieces
