The One World Centre is a non-profit, Global Learning and Resource Centre located in Bayswater, WA What do we do?

We provide educators and community members with a lending library of resources focused on equal opportunity and sustainable futures and on Indigenous knowledge and perspectives. All our work is aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Embedding the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and Sustainability Cross Curriculum Priorities across all Learning Areas, especially in relation to Two-Way Science, is a particular focus of the Centre. We provide education and community professional development workshops as well as promoting and supporting other organisations working in the areas of development, human rights and global sustainability.

Today is the International Day of Democracy, observed annually on 15th September, with the United Nations focusing on how democracy and diverse voices make inclusive and resilient societies.

We were so delighted to have our local member visit the centre last week to understand better our global education work with schools and the community. Long term volunteers Lynne, Avenel, Caroline and Peter along with MA graduate interns Wafiqah and Pin Yin explained there volunteer work with the centre.

Dan Bull and his staffer Caroline were so supportive of our work we all came away energised!

We were glad to talk about how our work is shaped by the Global Goals for Sustainable Development and we asked him to investigate if the State government still draws on the framework as it had in the past?
