π±π₯ Learning with Reading Eggs and Mathseeds! π€π’
Our Thornlie Kindy students have been enjoying some interactive learning using Reading Eggs and Mathseeds on the iPads! π
The children worked independently through fun and engaging activities designed to strengthen their early literacy and numeracy skills. Through Reading Eggs, they practised important skills such as letter and sound recognition, vocabulary and early reading. Through Mathseeds, the children explored number recognition, counting, matching and other early mathematical concepts. π€ππ’
Using the iPads also provided opportunities for the children to develop their digital literacy skills as they independently navigated activities, followed instructions and made choices about their learning.
MashaAllah, it was wonderful to see our little learners so focused, engaged and confident while using technology to support their learning. May Allah continue to increase them in beneficial knowledge. Ameen! π€²π

π¦ Year 5 Exploring Wildlife & Conservation! πΏπ¨
Our Year 5 students at Australian Islamic College Forrestdale had an exciting opportunity to visit WA Wildlife, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre.
Throughout the visit, students participated in a range of hands-on activities, exploring wetland food chains, animal adaptations and the unique wildlife of the Australian outback. They had the opportunity to learn about blue-tongue lizards, pythons, dingoes, wombats, koalas and emus, as well as interact with a corella, ringtail possum and other small creatures.
The experience provided a wonderful opportunity for students to bring their classroom learning to life, making meaningful connections to their Science and HASS studies on animal adaptations, conservation, habitats and natural resources.
Most importantly, students reflected on the Islamic values of compassion, care and responsibility towards all of Allahβs creation, recognising the important role we each play in protecting animals and their habitats.
A wonderful day of learning, discovery and connection with our amazing Australian wildlife! πΏπ¦

Year 2 Procedure Writing Fun! π
Our Year 2 students have been learning all about procedure writingβhow to write clear, step-by-step instructions.
To put their learning into practice, the students had a deliciously fun hands-on activity: making fairy bread! π
The students worked through each step of the process, from spreading the butter to sprinkling on the colourful hundreds. Along the way, they discussed the importance of using time connectives, clear action words and putting instructions in the correct order.
After making their fairy bread, the students reflected on whether their instructions were clear enough for someone else to follow. It was wonderful to see them applying their literacy skills in such a fun and practical wayβand, of course, enjoying a tasty reward at the end!
Who knew learning about procedures could be so sweet? β¨
