Today we’re saying farewell to Emma, and we wanted to take a moment to recognise the contribution she’s made to the team at Creative Spaces.

As a versatile designer with experience across signage, interpretation and exhibition projects, Emma has been a real asset to the studio, bringing creativity, clarity and care to everything she worked on. Her storytelling, sharp wit and sense of humour have been a valued part of our days here, and she’ll be missed around the studio.

Emma has been an important part of the team, and while we’re sorry to see her go, we wish her all the best for what comes next. Thank you, Emma — you’ll always be part of the Creative Spaces family!

Just a little site visit at Wesley College Wesley College 👷‍♀️

The site visit gave us the chance to get out on location, suit up in our protective gear, and review the onsite details.

We always enjoy these kinds of visits. It’s a great reminder that while we spend a lot of time viewing our designs on screen, the physical space really brings them to life.

For the National Trust of WA National Trust WA, we helped refresh the interpretation at ANZAC Cottage to celebrate its powerful story as a community-built memorial.

Our solution blends vintage aesthetics with modern legibility, using a textured palette, clear hierarchy and period-inspired typography to honour the cottage’s history while improving accessibility. Through storytelling, artefacts and multimedia, the new experience brings local sacrifice, collective effort and living memory to life.

We’re proud to share our work on the Kagoshima Park public art concept, developed in collaboration with Burswood Park Board Burswood Park.

The concept uses a series of large and small columns to tell a layered story of award recipients, with smaller columns listing past winners and larger columns allowing for annual brass plaque updates. The arrangement of the columns was carefully considered to maintain visibility, accessibility and flow throughout the park.

Thank you to Burswood Park Board for trusting us with this project. We’ve really valued the opportunity to help shape a design that celebrates community, leadership and achievement in such a meaningful way.

From concept to final design!

We worked with Burswood Park Board to develop a signage concept for Kagoshima Park within Burswood Park Burswood Park that celebrates excellence, leadership and community.

Using a refined black and brass palette, layered columns and durable local materials, the design creates a reflective space that honours the achievements of Western Australians and brings a lasting sense of civic pride to the park.

It’s amazing to see the comparison between the concept and final piece, the final result really stays true to the original concept.

It took us a while… but our new website is finally live.

We’ve redesigned Creative Spaces to better explain what we do and who we work with: exhibition design, interpretation and environmental graphics that connect people, places and ideas. The new site reflects how we work day-to-day—bringing together research, storytelling and built form to create meaningful experiences shaped by place.

A huge thank you to the fabulous for guiding the overall layout and user experience, Morgan Leek from Six Character Media for development and troubleshooting and to .arolo for writing all of the content. Big shout out also to Emma and Courtney for getting us across the line.

What an incredible experience we had at the ‘Our Wondrous Planet’ exhibition at Melbourne Museum last week. The immersive design showcased stunning beauty and captivating lighting and truly brought the story to life. It’s a fantastic example of the art of exhibition design, and we’re excited to carry a bit of that inspiration with us!
