Perth Pets in Need
Referral and advisory service for owners in need of assistance and animals requiring rescue. Please ensure all comments are respectful and courteous.
Raising awareness about important animal welfare issues in the community. Perth Pets in Need was founded in 2010 and has been created to help the needy animals of Western Australia. It exists as a referral and advisory service for owners in need of assistance; advertising animals needing rescue, available for adoption or requiring foster care; impounded animals looking for owners; and a forum to discuss latest welfare issues and educate pet owners. This page is run solely by volunteers who dedicate our time to assisting the public, animals in need and do not receive any funding, donations or grants to do so. It is our aim to see as many animals assisted as possible and work with smaller non funded no kill animal welfare organisations who share our vision. We welcome anyone to post links or stories to share about a rescue organisation, an animal in need, websites of interest, topics or petitions that affects animals and pet owners of Western Australia. It is community based forum, so we encourage everyone to get involved by joining in discussions and providing feedback on welfare issues affecting our animals. We promote responsible pet ownership, rescue and adoption which includes sterilisation, micro-chipping and vaccination of all companion dogs, cats and rabbits, PRIOR to being rehomed. Our page supports ethical rescue groups, who ensure that the welfare of all animals in their care is made a priority, and represent the industry in a professional, empathetic manner. Thank you and welcome!

🆘🆘MALI NEEDS A MIRACLE🆘🆘
She needs out of her current home in the next week‼️‼️
She might not be in a pound but Canine Welfare Australia are her last hope.
There is no options left and they need the right home for her now!.
You need to be a confident, calm and a quiet household who knows how to go slow and have patience with frightened dogs.
They prefer no other pets but if you have a dog you may be considered if your dog is not anxious, relaxed, calm, respects other dogs space and you can seperate with slow intro.
She is only a small senior girl at 17kgs.
⚠️Please contact the rescue via email: [email protected]
🩷💛💜 FOSTER CARE SORTED - THANK YOU TO HER NEW FOSTER MUM AND EVERYONE WHO SHARED - MALI WILL BE SAFE WITH US🩷💛💜
SUPER URGENT CARE NEEDED FOR MALI! 💔
We have only ONE WEEK to find very shy Mali 🌸 an experienced foster home. 🏠
She is an itty bitty, 17kg staff x, who is urgent need of somewhere to go by the 20th!!The deadline cannot be extended and she will not cope in kennels.
Mali is an extremely anxious dog with new people, but is particularly scared of men.
We have spent time with Mail and she will bond closely with a calm, patient and consistent female carer, that is confident with dogs.
We prefer this is be female only, but will consider a home where there is a gentle male present. However the primary carer needs to be female and both people need to allow her to set the pace. It is important that Mali is given time and space to decompress in the new home, so she isn’t put under pressure or flooded. ✅
Sorry no kids please. ❌
Sadly Mali’s one safe person in this world, her beautiful mum, has gone into full time care and her dad is moving to a retirement home. Sadly we believe she has been abused 💔 by men at some time in her early years. As a result Mali has never really bonded with her male owner since she was given to them at 2 years old.
Mali is not reactive to calm dogs 🐶 and may possibly go with a very calm social male medium dog who will ignore her (must have the ability to do slow intro over a few days so separate area to begin with).
As you may notice Mali also has pretty severe skin issues. The vets believe this is due to being fed an all meat diet and stress since her mum went into care. Since her diet has changed a week ago it is already shown signs of improvement and she is now on anxiety meds. Blood tests have thankfully so far ruled out other endocrine disorders such as Thyroid or Cushings.
Mali has a lot going on behaviour wise, so does get some storm anxiety, settling in anxiety (this should resolve in time) and vets. She is sadly very fearful of leads and harnesses so will shut down, but she overcomes this out on walks. Mali also loves her car rides and is very happy to sit nicely watching out the window.
At almost 10 years old this darling girl, is a low energy dog and very much house trained. 💖
Mali is food motivated, but over all is already a well behaved dog, and responds well to gentle reassurance. She will need someone willing to give her time to come around, and use positive reinforcement to build her confidence. As she is so anxious, it’s best Mali has a small yard she can retreat to if she wishes.
Mali does desperately want to bond with females and will attach herself quite quickly from our interactions with her. 💞The poor darling didn’t want to go home the two occasions we have had her out, which shows us that she prefers females to men.
We are looking for a home in Perth, who are prepared to work with us and follow our instructions. Someone home part time is needed initially and is committed long term.
We know this kind of home we are asking for is rare 🍀, but we have to try for Mali’s sake, as we feel she will thrive in the right home.🌷
If you can open your home to the sweetest little poppet (she is staffy size), please email [email protected] for a form.
Mali is already desexed, but will need a dental at some stage and has some arthritis. Full support will be provided and vet costs covered while Mali is in foster care.
Please share for Mali - we know this special girl will make a lovely companion for a lady owner. 🩷💜🩷💜

🆘🆘🆘 Very urgent female only household required in Perth!!! 🆘🆘🆘
Less than two weeks to find Mali a suitable home. Deadline Friday 21st August- absolute last day!!!
Mali munchkin is only 17kgs and incredibly afraid of men.
She was very bonded to her previous female owner who has now gone into care.
Mali doesn’t understand what’s happening and has regressed with her owners partner now caring for her and also now moving in to retirement living.
Mali is nearly 10 years old and looking for a foster or foster view to adopt with a ladies only home to give her that chance at relaxing in her senior years.
Someone who’s going take it slow. Give her space. Allow her time to decompress and blossom into the dog others know she can be. A lady who is gentle, loving and patient.
She wants to trust and Canine Welfare Australia believes she will bond quickly with a female one on one in a quiet peaceful household.
Full support will be given including covering veterinary costs while under the rescues care.
If you can assist please email the rescue [email protected]
If you can’t foster please share to help save Mali’s life. - sometimes that’s all it takes to reach that perfect home 💔

The image of this poor dog 💔being abused by this waste of oxygen makes us sick to the core. 🤢
The sad part is this is likely not an isolated incident.
Why she wasn’t given a jail sentence is beyond us. 👎
1 YEAR OLD PUP GURGLED AND SCREAMED AS PERTH LOWLIFE CHOKES HER WITH ROPE
Lani Beattie, 23, has been convicted over a sustained attack on a staffy-kelpie cross, Roxy, in October last year after the dog allegedly damaged her belongings.
Court findings state Beattie repeatedly pulled on a rope around the dog’s neck with force on multiple occasions, lifting her off the ground and slamming her down, causing her to yelp, choke, gurgle, and make dry heaving sounds.
She then struck Roxy on seven separate occasions, with the dog again crying out, yelping, and struggling.
Beattie was filmed by a passerby standing over the dog’s “lifeless body” in the backyard of her Beckenham property. The dog had been tied to a pole, with the rope still around her neck.
After the dog attempted to escape, Beattie used a second rope to choke her.
RSPCA WA inspectors seized Roxy on the day of the incident. Veterinary examinations recorded bruising, swelling, bleeding to the right eye, and psychological trauma.
Beattie appeared in Perth Magistrates Court and was handed a 12-month suspended sentence. She was banned from owning or caring for an animals for five years and ordered to pay $1,600 to RSPCA WA.
Roxy has since recovered and been adopted.

Help Clara 🌸get life saving surgery. ❤️🩹
We don’t usually share go fund me’s, however Clara’s family has been through a lot and her mum has exhausted her funds paying for Clara’s teeth to be removed earlier this year. Clara in need of surgery to have her mammary tumours removed and at 11 years young Clara still has plenty of life left in her yet. She is also a vital support system to her mum and extended family, who experienced a personal tragedy a few years ago.
Clara’s family also wanted us to share the importance of having dogs speyed early. Even if female dogs aren’t used for breeding, early sterilisation does reduce the likelihood of mammary tumours developing significantly. In addition speying eliminates chances of deadly pyometra and accidental litters. 🛑
