🐄🐑 Farm Animal Fun in the Babies Room 🐷🐓

This week, our Babies Room has been busy exploring farm animals through a range of playful learning experiences.

The children particularly enjoyed exploring our felt farm animals alongside a special little barn handmade by one of our educators. The babies were encouraged to touch, hold and move the different animals, placing them in and around the barn while educators introduced the names and sounds of each animal.

This hands-on experience supported the children’s sensory exploration, fine motor development and early language as educators introduced different animal names and sounds through play. It was wonderful to see their curiosity as they explored each animal in their own way.

We love seeing our educators create meaningful resources that bring the children’s learning and interests to life!

Exploring Reflections in the Nursery

Our Nursery room has welcomed a new mirror into their environment, and it has already been a wonderful addition!

The children have been spending time exploring their reflections, looking closely at their faces, making different expressions and noticing their movements. There have been lots of smiles, curiosity and special moments as the children begin to recognise themselves and others in the mirror.

Mirror play is a simple but meaningful experience that supports babies developing sense of identity and self-awareness, while also encouraging visual tracking, movement, communication and social interactions.

We look forward to seeing how the children continue to explore and engage with this new addition to their environment.

💙 Celebrating Father’s Day 💙

This afternoon we celebrated Father’s Day by welcoming our dads, grandads, carers and special people to join us for a relaxed afternoon tea and some meaningful activities with the children.

It was lovely to see our families spending time together, getting involved in the activities, sharing lots of smiles and creating special memories with their children.

Celebrations like these are a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the connections between our service, children and families, while recognising the important people in each child’s life.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special. We hope you all enjoyed celebrating with us! 💙

💛 Little letters, kind words and meaningful conversations for R U OK? Day. 💛

Dressed in yellow, our children and educators came together to explore what it means to care for one another. We talked about feelings, how to check in with a friend and the little things we can do to help someone feel included and supported.

The children wrote kind letters to their peers and educators, sharing thoughtful messages that brought smiles to faces and reminded us how much a few caring words can mean.

These experiences help children develop empathy, recognise emotions and build the confidence to express their feelings and ask for help.

While R U OK? Day sparked these conversations, the learning continues every day—through listening, offering comfort and taking the time to ask how someone is feeling.

Kindness and connection have a place at Atlantis every day of the year. 💛

🐸 Our toddlers have been busy exploring, singing and learning through play!

We created our very own pond area, complete with frogs, logs and a cosy pond. This space was developed as an extension of the children’s growing interest in the songs Galumph Went the Little Green Frog and Five Little Speckled Frogs.

The children have enjoyed placing and counting the frogs on the logs, singing familiar songs and creating their own stories through imaginative play. They have also been learning about the frog life cycle, expanding their vocabulary and developing an understanding of the natural world.

This experience has supported early numeracy, language development, memory, confidence and social interaction. It has been wonderful to see the children’s interests grow into such a meaningful learning experience, and we look forward to continuing to build on their curiosity. 🐸🌿

❤️ Paint the Town REaD❤️

We recently collaborated with Paint the Town REaD at Ocean Keys Shopping Centre coming together to support early literacy and encourage a lifelong love of books and reading within our local community.

Across The Atlantis Group, we collected pre-loved children’s books generously donated by our families, helping give these books a new home and the opportunity to be enjoyed by many more little readers.

To celebrate, our children also took part in a special reading session at Ocean Keys Shopping Centre, where we shared stories together and celebrated the magic of reading.

Paint the Town REaD is a wonderful early literacy initiative that encourages communities to read, talk, sing and rhyme with children from birth, helping build strong foundations for language, communication and literacy.

A huge thank you to all of our Atlantis families and services who donated books and helped us support this wonderful community initiative. ❤️

This week, we celebrate the incredible educators who bring so much care, patience, creativity and passion to our centre each and every day.

Thank you for the love and support you give our children, for creating meaningful learning experiences, for celebrating every little achievement, and for making each child feel safe, valued and supported.

Early childhood educators play such an important role in the lives of children and their families, and we are so grateful for the amazing team we have.

Kindy’s Science Week Adventure at Scitech!🪐✨

Our Kindy children recently extended their Science Week learning with an exciting excursion to Scitech — a full day of exploring, investigating and getting hands‑on with all the incredible interactive science experiences. There was curiosity, excitement and so many wonderful conversations as the children discovered new things and explored how the world around them works.

But the highlight of the day was definitely the space show!

We were taken on an amazing space‑time adventure through the Solar System — from the scorching surface of Mercury all the way out to icy Pluto and beyond!

The children were completely captivated as they learned about the wonders and dangers of space, discovering just how unique and precious our home planet Earth really is. The journey had everyone glued to the show as we travelled through some of the most extreme places in our Solar System.

It was such a fantastic way to extend our Science Week learning and inspire our Kindy children to keep wondering, questioning, investigating and discovering. 🔭✨

🍎 The Very Hungry Caterpillar in Pre-Kindy! 🦋

The Pre-Kindy room has thoughtfully brought The Very Hungry Caterpillar to life! They began by reading the story together and exploring what he ate through the week.

The children got creative and made their own colourful droplet caterpillars, carefully using droppers to add colour and create their designs. 🐛

To finish their Very Hungry Caterpillar journey, the children created their own beautiful symmetry butterflies! 🦋
They added paint to one side of the paper, folded it over and pressed it together before opening it up for the exciting reveal. There were lots of smiles and excitement as the children discovered the colourful mirrored patterns they had created!

From a tiny egg, to a hungry caterpillar, and finally a beautiful butterfly, the Pre-Kindy children loved bringing this much-loved story to life through storytelling, creativity and hands-on discovery!
