A diehard Fremantle Dockers fan has managed to fill two 100-seat Fokker aircraft bound for Melbourne after chartering flights for fellow supporters.

Speaking with 6PR Weekends host Chrissy Morrissy, Kathy Collett revealed how a list from 2013 sparked an overwhelming response from footy fans desperate to get on board.

Airlines have added extra flights between Perth and Melbourne after the Dockers secured their place in the AFL grand final.

Both Virgin and Qantas have increased seat capacity for fans, but prices are surging as demand grows. Some Virgin tickets have surpassed $1000, while Qantas has seats available for up to $1500.

All beaches in the City of Joondalup have been closed as emergency services search for a swimmer following a suspected shark attack off Sorrento Beach. Two men were swimming about 50 metres offshore when one was attacked at around 10:15 am today. Multiple agencies are assisting with the search.
