"You want a chip bro?"

I had the "mine, mine, mine," seagulls from Nemo in my head when I painted Spike, but I'd forgotten about the "Beached as" whale video!

Today I got to chat to a lady who bought one of my Spike art prints for her hubby! She was so taken with the fact it's a single chip in his mouth and she had to tell me the story behind this painting for her. She laughed and laughed when she first saw him! It's such a great feeling to hear stories of how art brings up different things for people.

I love that Spike will keep bringing so much joy and laughter for this sweet couple! She tells me that "you want a chip bro?" is a common phrase in New Zealand 😆🥰

Ah, the simple pleasures! The "one man's trash is another man's treasure." Otherwise known as the "Winner Winner Bin Chicken Dinner," painting! 🥰

I love, love, loved painting this one!! It was so much fun adding all the little details, dreaming up an Ibis dinner party on a bin 😂

Im a big believer that with the rise of Ai, the hand-made, handpainted, the simple pleasures that fill our creative cup right up, are more valuable then they've ever been!

The kinda mates you think of when you think, “No one else would find this funny.”

The one you can laugh with for hours… usually about absolutely nothing at all.

The one where a 5-minute catch-up turns into 20, then 50. And before you know it, you’re an hour and a half in and the phrase “Okay, just one more and we’re going home” has been said approximately 17 times. 😂

The one with all the “you had to be there” moments.

The inside jokes that make absolutely no sense to anyone else.

Today I was out and about, stocking up some Father's Day goodies. Then dropping a few orders off. Suddenly, like something hit me, I was just completely overwhelmed by the fact that you guys are buying my art!!

This might mean nothing to you, but I finished my first packet of price sticker sheets yesterday! That's 6400 stickers on my art that has gone out into the world! 🤯 Im totally, completely amazed. Thank you all so very much for supporting me in my art business over the past 2 ish years!!
