Making your own clothes involves so much more than simply sitting down at a sewing machine. Commercial patterns come with their own language and skills to learn — choosing the right size, taking body measurements, tracing patterns, understanding sizing, cutting, fitting and adjusting… and then finally putting it all together. ✂️🪡

It can feel like a lot when you’re looking at the whole journey at once.

These beautiful tops were made by our students as they worked their way through that journey — learning a little more with each project and building the skills to make garments they can actually wear. ❤️

And my favourite part?

The smiles at the end. 🥰

That moment when a student puts on something she made herself and realises:

“I actually did this!”

They started at Level 1, making their very first cushion cover. 🧵

Each child designed their own embroidery, choosing something special to make their keyring unique. And, of course, every single one proudly says:

From personalised designs to little details chosen especially for Dad, every keyring is as unique as the child who made it.

We know these gifts might be small, but we also know how much love went into every stitch. ❤️
