We save lives, keep the beach safe and work in the community to teach vital First Aid and beach safety skills. www.mybeach.com.au
Surf Life Saving in Western Australia is a volunteer based not-for-profit community service organisation, providing an essential educational and emergency rescue service to all users of West Australian beaches. Surf Life Saving is a part of the history, fabric and future of this country. It represents the lifestyle, values and beliefs of the Australian culture. It protects life, it saves life, it promotes life. We create a safe environment in and around our beaches, through patrols on, in and above the shore and through education and training programs. Surf Life Saving is the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia and exists only through community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship. Surf Life Saving Western Australia comprises a State centre, 31 surf life saving clubs, support operations teams on the water and in the air and over 21,500 members who are all committed to saving lives and positively impacting on their local communities.

MEDIA // Surf Life Saving WA has welcomed this morningβs announcement by the Hon. Jackie Jarvis MLC, Minister for Fisheries, of an additional $3.7 million in funding as part of the governmentβs Shark Hazard Mitigation Strategy.
Speaking at this morningβs media announcement, SLSWA President Heidi Gan said the funding would strengthen and expand key services delivered by SLSWA under the Strategy, including Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter patrols, beach and drone patrols.
βThis morningβs funding announcement provides for a significant increase in these activities", said Ms Gan.
βSimply put, the more services we have on the beaches, and the longer they operate, the more threats we will identify and the more lives we can save.β
