This is a shorter poem, so I thought I'd share the whole thing on here with you all! If you enjoy this kind of writing then I have plenty more on my website. I wrote it in the style of metal lyrics; with the theme of social media misinformation and intellectually detrimental algorithms in mind.

"Rep-tilian skin
This human thing
Burnt by the cold
From stories of old

An elder being
Born of the frozen sea
Conspiring spires
And sunken liars

My former entity
Still reflecting me
A mirror of ice
Lost in a valley of lies

As my vision does falter
The diagnosis alters
Neanderthal
Meandering

Neanderthal!

Platter of Confusion Words that Work part 1

Here in Australia we like to think that we're better than, and that we see through the lies of Trump and MAGA over in the US. But we unfortunately have our own brand of right wing populism with One Nation and Pauline Hanson. No one is beyond the potential for fascism, and we need to reckon with ourselves in order to change this global course...

"Gird-less gargantuan
In a mansion of misery
Unsuffering solemnly
Endless empty rooms
Atop slums of scorned scum
Who all silently succumb
To the poisonous trickle
Beneath the beast’s thumb"

Faces of Fascism this poem confronts the reality that we all have the capacity to do evil. Because when we don’t have this thought - we end up with faultless figures in power who do immense harm.

I’ve previously written blog style posts over on Pollyverse, but I've also got more that I want to say. So this is the first of a series of ongoing articles about relevant subjects that I have some thoughts on.
