A few things need to be said.
I’ve kept quiet about this for a long time, but there comes a point where enough is enough.
I’ve spent years designing, developing and refining my drawer systems, false floors, brackets and 4WD storage solutions. These products are the result of my own time, money, experience and countless hours spent measuring, testing and getting things right.
To do that, you need more than a CNC machine. You need the knowledge behind the designs.
I trusted Slide It Solutions with CNC work for my business. In doing so, they had access to my designs, measurements, files and the knowledge that came with manufacturing my products.
What has happened since has left me extremely disappointed.
That information and knowledge has subsequently been used to assist other businesses in developing and producing drawer systems that are strikingly similar to what I have spent years developing.
That’s not competition. That’s a complete breach of trust.
If you want to compete with me, no problem. Build your own products. Design your own systems. Spend the years and money developing them yourself.
What I have a problem with is someone benefiting from the work, knowledge and intellectual property that I spent years building — and then using that knowledge to help others enter the same market.
I built Custom Overland Solutions from the ground up. I’ve put everything into this business, and I’m proud of what we manufacture.
I’m not going to sit back and pretend this is okay.
There are plenty of businesses out there doing things the right way, and I’ll continue to support fair competition. But there is a very big difference between competition and using someone else’s work to get a head start.
