The May 2026 budget reforms changed negative gearing and the CGT discount for established property purchased from 12 May onward, leaving new builds largely unaffected.
We've only ever worked with house and land packages. Not because we saw this coming (wouldn't that be nice), but because the case was already there.
New builds see full depreciation from day one, reduced stamp duty in most states, and modern finishes that attract better tenants. Now the tax settings have swung in favour, too.
