Blue Duck Coffee

Turkey's turn 🇹🇷☕ Turkish coffee is one of the OLDEST coffee traditions in the world - UNESCO actually lists it as 'intangible cultural heritage'. It's brewed in a small copper pot called a cezve, served unfiltered (so the grounds settle at the bottom), and traditionally followed by FORTUNETELLING - where someone reads the patterns left by the coffee grounds in your cup. 🔮 Yeah. Your cuppa can predict your future. Bonza tradition that. Anyone ever had a coffee reading?

🌍 Different country. Different ritual. Same feeling - that little moment of pause, of connection, of warmth. Pretty special when ya think about it. 💙 What does your coffee ritual mean to you?

Welcome to Vietnam 🇻🇳☕ Vietnamese coffee is INTENSE - they use robusta beans (way stronger than your usual arabica) and a slow-drip 'phin' filter. The classic order: cà phê sữa đá - strong black coffee dripped over sweetened condensed milk and poured over ice. Tastes like dessert. Hits like a freight train. Then there's egg coffee - yep, whipped egg yolk + sugar + coffee. Sounds weird, tastes like coffee tiramisu. We're not joking, mates. Worth trying once.

A few rules Italians live by:
1⃣ Espresso is sipped standing at the bar - usually in under 2 minutes.
2⃣ Cappuccinos are ONLY for before 11am. Order one after lunch and ya might cop a side-eye.
3⃣ Coffee with milk = breakfast drink. Black coffee = anytime.

The whole country basically runs on this rhythm. Romantic, isn't it? Reckon you'd survive Italian coffee rules?

Let's start where it all began - Ethiopia. ☕🇪🇹 Coffee was first discovered here, and Ethiopians take it VERY seriously. The traditional 'bunna' ceremony takes around an hour and involves three rounds of brewing - each one with its own meaning. Beans are roasted in front of you. Ground by hand. Brewed in a clay pot called a 'jebena'. It's not a transaction - it's a community ritual. Reckon we could all take a leaf out of that book.

Well, that's June done. ❄ Halfway through the year already. Bloody hell. Hope this month's been kind to ya - that you've found a few quiet moments, shared a few good cuppas, and stayed warm through the dodgy mornings. Thanks for being part of our little community. From all of us at 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 - onwards into the second half. 💙
