Hi everyone! We're so excited to soon be releasing our new children's book 'Bongo Bedlam' with Pegasus Publishers and Nightingale Books .

Synopsis
Bongo Bedlam is a fun story for young children with an environmental message. Bongo is a young Orangutan living in the Malaysian rainforest. His dream is to become a famous drummer much to the amusement of his friends and family.
Bongo’s world is turned upside-down when he discovers that his jungle home is being cleared to make way for a palm oil plantation. After an encounter with a kindly farmer who explains he needs to farm palm oil to live, Bongo decides to travel to the city to follow his dream and to try and fix the problem.

Will be available from major sellers including Amazon.com

Please check out Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia for ways to help the orangutans living in Borneo. Their habitat is getting smaller and smaller due to palm oil farming. They really are amazing creatures and share 97% of our DNA.

We will keep you updated with more information about a release date soon!

Many Thanks,

The Bongo team

A very special date, pop it in your calendar!

🦧 Mark your calendars — International Orangutan Day is just two weeks away (19th August)!

We're kicking off our countdown by celebrating the incredible animals who share 97% of our DNA.

Each year, this day offers a chance to spotlight the crisis facing orangutans in the wild — habitat loss from deforestation, human-wildlife conflict, and the illegal wildlife trade — while celebrating the rescue, rehabilitation, and release work that gives them a second chance.

We've got some special surprises in store for International Orangutan Day itself, but over the next two weeks we'll also be sharing:
🧡 Individual orangutan stories from our sanctuary
🌳 Facts about their behaviour and habitat
🤝 Ways you can help — from our adoption program to supporting reforestation and other conservation efforts

Follow along and help us spread the word — tag someone who loves great apes as much as we do! 🦧💛

We have some very exciting news to be announced soon... please stay tuned! 🦧
