We're inviting HSUWA to support WA Nurses and Midwives and sign the petition to demand the WA Government stop delaying ratios and deliver the safe staffing nurses, midwives and patients were promised.

The federal Department of Health, Disabilty and Aging has released a new workforce supply and demand report – this time for Medical Radiation Practitioners.

The report finds that despite projected growth in supply, the MRP workforce is expected to remain in shortage throughout the projection period.

Over the past three weeks, hundreds of HSUWA Members have attended paid union meetings across all metro public health hospitals and online to discuss the upcoming negotiations for your replacement Union Agreement. It's clear Members are ready for what lies ahead, and we look forward to another successful bargaining campaign.

Paid Union Meetings for public sector health workers kicked off this week at Armadale Health Service and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Organisers are visiting metro hospitals over the next couple of weeks to discuss the Log of Claims for your 2027 Union Agreement.

UNION WIN! Congratulations, HSUWA Members and Student Members!

Today, the Federal Government has responded to a hard-fought campaign and has announced an extension of the paid placements scheme to students in some additional allied health professions.

Eligible professions will receive up to $338.60 per week and include:
- Clinical psychology
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational therapy
- Speech pathology
- Radiography
- Pharmacy
- Rehabilitation therapies
- Audiology
- Paramedicine

There is more work to do, and HSU members will continue to advocate for students in all allied health disciplines to have access to the Paid Placement scheme.
