Before you get rid of an entire instrument, try getting rid of some unnecessary frequencies instead! (And yeah if subtractive EQ still can’t save it, make the sacrifice😭) PS: if you’re having a hard time finding the key frequencies in your mix,there are heaps of resources online that will tell you roughly where each instrument’s frequency range is! PPS: Charts and mixing cheat sheets are great for starting off, but remember to use your ears to mix, not your eyes!
