Twenty-five years ago today, the world changed in a single morning...
As a therapist, I think often about a distinction that doesn't get talked about enough: trauma outcomes aren't only shaped by what happened β they're shaped by whether a person had somewhere to process it, with someone trained to hold it.
9/11 survivors had that, often within days. Many trauma survivors β from other events, other decades β never did.
If you're still carrying something you've never said out loud: that gap can still close. It's not too late to be heard.

Sometimes asking βAre you OK?β can begin with sharing a little of ourselves first. π©΅
Offering something honest about how weβre feeling can create a sense of openness and safety... and make it easier for someone else to share whatβs going on for them too.
A different way to start the conversation this R U OK? Day. π
Don't forget to tune in this morning at
7:45 AM on ABC Breakfast TV to watch the interview with Geraldine and James Glenday and Emma Rebellato!
ππ Join us for our first Full Moon Matcha Swim!
Start your morning with a refreshing ocean dip, connection and a cuppa by the sea. You donβt have to be a swimmer.
Simply dip your toes in, have a quick plunge or enjoy a longer swim at your own pace.
