Congratulations to our Head Coach Mal Meninga, who was made a Queensland Rugby League Life Member at tonight’s QRL Awards in Brisbane.
An NRL Immortal and one of Queensland’s greatest players, Meninga represented his state 32 times and captained the Maroons from 1992 to 1994.
As Queensland coach, Meninga guided the Maroons to nine series wins - including eight consecutive series wins from 2006 to 2013 - making him the most successful coach in State of Origin history.
For the man who has done it all, this is another well-deserved accolade for the great Queenslander, who will lead us in our inaugural 2027 NRL season.

15-year-old Zane Murray has become the first West Australian teenager signed by the Perth Bears, joining the club on a three-year Elite Emerging contract through the Perth Bears Tracks Academy.

Rugby League World Cup call-ups 🫡
Congratulations to Perth Bears recruits Scott Sorensen and Jope Rauqe on being named in the extended squads for New Zealand and Fiji.
They join Morgan Smithies and Mikołaj Olędzki who were named in England’s extended squad earlier this year.
Bears fans will get their first look at our English recruits when England plays two World Cup matches at HBF Park, aka "The Bear Pit", this October.

Perth Bears Head Coach Mal Meninga joined the NRL WA community for the Fuel to Go & Play Senior Men’s Grand Final, where South Perth defeated the Fremantle Roosters 21–6.
“It was a pleasure to be amongst friends at the NRL WA Rugby League Grand Final. Congratulations to everyone involved in a great day and to the teams that battled it out.
“It was a reminder that regardless of what level we play the game at, the same enjoyment and celebrations resonate on Grand Final day. It takes courage and commitment to run onto a footy field and put your body on the line for your club and your mates.”
