Holistic First Aid
Helping people learn the skills to help others, friends, family work colleagues, who may be developing a mental health issue or are in a crisis.
I love training & I am is passionate about first aid - mental, physical & emotional. With the philosophy of empowering individuals to help make a difference with their friends, family & colleagues. I've completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, and previously completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Sports Studies), a Post Grad in Biomedical Science (Health Promotion) and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Training & Development). Yes I love studying and learning. To date I've has proudly delivered 265 Mental Health First Aid workshops since becoming an accredited instructor in 2009. Last year I became a Mental Health First Aid Instructor Trainer, supporting and mentoring new instructors to facilitate the Mental Health First Aid program. I love this, it is nice to impart some of my wisdom and learnings (including a few mistakes to avoid) to others. Further mental health knowledge is enhanced by current studies in Transactional Analysis (Certificate IV in Transactional Analysis) and previously as a volunteer Lifeline telephone counsellor. Jackie has applied these first aid principles in a variety of settings and seeks to impart practical knowledge to each group. For 30 years I've has been involved in the health area, with training experience in a wide variety of industries including, University lecturing, emergency management, sports medicine, health promotion, road safety and "physical" first aid. This has involved delivering courses to a wide variety of people and organisations, including; local & state government, non-government & not-for profits, frontline managers, executives, mine site workers & trades people, school teachers & students, senior citizens & sporting clubs. This has given me so many wonderful experiences across a broad section of society, I feel very fortunate. Member:

Caution!
Contents have resulted in excessive eye rolling, outlandish giggles, groans and guffaws.
you have been warned….
Born out of Covid where I’d send around the daily joke with a funny picture, this has now morphed into a theme a day.
People have requested various themes for jokes over the years.
Mostly they have come from life; the mundane, the marvellous and the mishaps.
This Tiny Taster of Twelve Themes is a precursor to The Daily Joke - 365 themes of the day (+ 1, in case you’re reading it in a leap year)
Enjoy
Keep smiling, it makes our brain happy!
(there’s research to prove this too)

Jackie McRae has spent decades in health and education, but her true passion is mental health first aid. She mixes psychology, humanity, and the occasional bad joke.
Jackie prescribes humour generously, laminates advice when necessary, and firmly believes sanity improves with stationery.
