Some people say the burgers are better at Hungry Jacks, my son comes for the doors!
We're sitting in the children's play area, but he just wants to open and close the door.

So on Friday I posted that I’d been Googling ‘recipes for fussy eaters.’
I stumbled across a recipe for pumpkin mac and cheese, which I was making for dinner.
I can now report that this one isn’t fussy-toddler-approved. He didn’t even touch it. He ended up eating bread and butter for dinner… again.
However, I loved it and think it’s worth sharing. I always love the idea of mac and cheese, but I often find it a bit bland. The pumpkin adds a nice flavour.
If you’re interested, here’s the recipe ⬇️

Telling time has become one of those things we just do without thinking.
Recently, my son got interested in an analogue clock image that was in one of his train books we borrowed from the library.
So I borrowed a book on telling the time.
He loves it; we’ve read it so many times.
But one particular page has made me realise that to a little person learning, telling time might seem a little daunting:
The time is 4:50 P.M., 50 minutes past 4.
Some people might say the time is “10 minutes to 5” or “10 minutes before 5.”
So many ways to say the same time, and we haven’t even talked about 24-hour time yet!
Still, I’m happy that what started as an interest in a train book, has grown into an introduction to telling the time.

Tonight's dinner will be Pumpkin Mac and Cheese.
I found it with a quick Google search:
Dinner ideas for fussy toddlers
It sounds delicious, and I know I'll love it, but I'm sure it won't get my fussy toddler's approval.
What are you having for dinner tonight?

Is Halloween gifting a thing?
It is now!
Whispers in Your Mind is the perfect Halloween addition. It's full of spooky stories and short enough to read in one sitting this Halloween.

You really are a poet.
You just didn’t know it.
I learnt a simple poetry exercise while I was at the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival.
Anyone can do it.
You can read about it here ⬇️

Today's outing took us to visit the King Neptune statue at Two Rocks.
When we left, my son said, "Good King Neptune", so it is now toddler-approved.

Do you ever have those days when you wake up and aren't sure how you'll make it through the day?
But then you make a coffee, stare into space for a bit, and suddenly you're ready to take on the world.
That’s where I am today… for now at least.
It's King's Birthday here in Perth, so I decided to hit up the shops because I knew no one would be around.
Does anyone else do this?
I caught the train to meet my book club group today. I love catching the train because I get to squeeze in some extra reading time.
