Please help Perth Pigeon Rescue support baby pigeons 🙏 We are heading into another very busy baby bird season, and we currently have a number of baby pigeons in care who need warmth and extra support.

We are raising funds to purchase a Vetario S50 Advance Series II Intensive Care Unit, a professional animal ICU designed for birds and other small animals. It provides controlled temperature, humidity and ventilation.

Baby pigeons, sick birds and injured birds can struggle to regulate their body temperature. Having a controlled environment where we can safely maintain temperature and humidity can make a huge difference to their recovery.

Our volunteers cover many of the costs of rescue and rehabilitation out of their own pockets when they arent able to cover them through donations or fundraising

Our fundraising goal is $1,600, which will cover the purchase of the ICU, delivery and initial supplies.

Perth Pigeon Rescue is a volunteer-run rescue based in Perth, WA. In just over a year, we have helped more than 1,300 pigeons through rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming and community assistance.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help us give vulnerable birds the warmth and care they need while they recover.

Meet Lufi and Monkey, two curious little pigeons who have settled beautifully into indoor life and love being part of the household.

Monkey is a big fan of shoulder time and will happily cling onto your hoodie while you potter around the house, content to come along for the ride. Lufi prefers the penthouse option, your head! She seems to appreciate both the extra height and the generous landing space.

They enjoy being around people and watching whatever is happening in the household, making them well suited to an indoor home where they can continue to be included in everyday life. They’re also very good at letting you know when socialising is over; once they’ve had enough exploring, they’ll head back into their cage by themselves for some downtime. They’re serious about their beauty sleep too, enjoying a good sleep-in and usually being quite happy to call it an early night.

Lufi and Monkey have been making good progress with the verbal commands “step up” and “come”. Monkey has taken to training particularly well, and Lufi will often follow his lead. They’ll both benefit from someone happy to continue building their trust and reinforcing their training at their own pace.

While they’re currently fostered together, they aren’t bonded and have a relationship like siblings. They tolerate each other well while they’re out exploring, but when sharing a cage there can be the occasional peck or wing slap over who gets the best resting spot or first pick of the food. Both can also be protective of their cage, so they may appreciate having a space to call their own, a space larger enough for the both of them, or integrated into a flock with other pigeons.

We currently have lots of pigeons available for adoption at Perth Pigeon Rescue. These pigeons have come to us lost, skinny or with broken bones. Some of which are still disabled, but happy and healthy. They are not suitable for free flying homes, but would love to live out their lives in a safe large avairy with their friends. Pigeons are beautiful birds that deserve a second chance. They are easy to care for and great pets to admire. If you would like to add some birds to your flock, or have the space to put a loft, please reach out as we might be able to help you with a set up 🥰
