Round 3 of the WA Government's Carbon Innovation Grants Program now open! Two grant funding streams are available
1) Feasibility Studies: Supporting technologies and methods to
progress from concept to real-world trials.
2) Pilot Projects and Capital Works: Supporting real-world testing of
innovative technologies and methods from pilot stage through
to full- scale deployment.
Funds available for Round 3
Feasibility studies
- Minimum funding limit of $50,000 and a maximum funding limit of $500,000, which must be no more than 50 per cent of eligible project costs.
Pilot projects and capital works
- Minimum funding limit of $100,000 and a maximum funding limit of $1.5 million, which must be no more than 25 per cent of eligible project costs.

Round 2 of The Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grant Program (TQMGP) is now open!
Round 1 of this Queensland Government grant saw 18 grants awarded, 11 of those based in Regional Queensland. A total of $12.5 million is available for Round 2, with eligible businesses able to apply for up to $1.5 million in matched funding.
The TQMGP provides grant funding to support Queensland based small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) to strengthen productivity and competitiveness.
The program enables businesses to invest in advanced manufacturing equipment, helping drive innovation, improve efficiency, and build a more competitive manufacturing sector across Queensland.
Grants between $100,000 and $1.5 million are available for:
🔸 Advanced manufacturing equipment which meets program
objectives
🔸 Software purchasing to support system integration and
manufacturing process improvement.

Applications are now open for the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Industrial Transformation Research Program (ITRP).
ITRP supports University researchers to partner with industry in priority areas for Australia. The program supports collaboration that translates research into new technologies, products, jobs, economic growth and broader societal benefits.
The current Industrial Transformation Priorities include:
🔸 Renewables and low-emissions technologies
🔸 Medical science
🔸 Transport
🔸 Value-add in agriculture, forestry and fisheries
🔸 Value-add in resources
🔸 Defence capability
🔸 Enabling capabilities
The ITRP offers two pathways:
🔬 Industrial Transformation Research Hubs (IH)
Supporting cutting-edge collaborative R&D between researchers and industry, with funding of $500,000–$2 million per year for 3–5 years.
🎓 Industrial Transformation Training Centres (IC)
Developing highly skilled HDR and postdoctoral researchers through close university–industry partnerships, with funding of up to $2 million per year over 4–5 years.

Attention Queensland Manufacturers 📢
Round 2 of the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program (TQMGP) is set to open soon.
Eligible Queensland Manufacturers can receive funding to upgrade equipment, expand capacity and improve production. The Queensland Government recently announced Round 1 recipients, 18 businesses shared 12.5million in funding, 11 of those were from Regional areas.
The funded projects are set to create new jobs, develop and upskill workers and strengthen local industries. The Innovative Manufacturing Adoption Fund (IMAF) – Stage 1 is offering $10,000–$50,000 to help NSW manufacturers investigate advanced manufacturing technologies and build a pathway to greater productivity, competitiveness and growth.
Funding can support:

🔸 Pilot projects, prototyping and process testing
🔸 Assessment of new equipment, software and systems
🔸 Certification and compliance requirements

Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative Grant streams closing soon!
There are three grant streams available aimed at developing new low emission technologies, building local manufacturing capacity and stimulating local manufacturing of renewable energy generation, storage and transmission components.
The Clean Technology Innovation Grant helps businesses pilot and demonstrate lab proven clean technologies to accelerate their commercial readiness. Types of projects and activities that will be funded include but are not limited to:
🔸 Technology development
🔸 Construction of specific testing infrastructure
🔸 Prototyping
🔸 Product verification
🔸 Demonstration and deployment
🔸 Front end engineering design (FEED)
🔸 Technical feasibility studies.

The R&D Tax Incentive encourages innovation and stimulates growth by unlocking capital for research and development projects.
The claimable amount depends on your company turnover.
Small businesses with an aggregated turnover of less than $20million can claim a refundable tax offset of up to 43.5% on eligible R&D activity.
Larger businesses with an aggregated turnover of $20million or more can claim a non refundable tax offset of 38.5% on eligible R&D activity. This is equal to your corporate tax rate plus a tiered premium based of your R&D intensity (R&D spend as a share of total expenses). Claims are capped at an expenditure limit of $150 million per year.
