Empowering people with disability to live the lives they want through NDIS support coordination.

01/10/2026

Document the damage.

What do we do now that the NDIS legislation has passed?

The next 12 months will be a difficult time for the disability community.

We need to document the damage.

That means gathering evidence of the impact of the cuts on our lives.

We need to share our experiences so the consequences of the legislation cannot be ignored.

This is something EAC is committed to doing.

As the changes roll out, we want to know:

Has your funding changed?
Have you lost supports?
How has your ability to participate in the community been affected?
Has a new NDIS process created a barrier?
What has the impact been on you and your family?

Your individual experience can help us build a national picture of what these changes are doing.

We can take that evidence to the media, Parliament and decision-makers and demand a better way forward.

The NDIS changes have passed Parliament. Now our focus turns to what happens next.

We know many people with disability and families are worried about what the changes could mean for their supports.

You might be wondering: Will my plan change? What happens if my funding is reduced? Can I challenge an NDIA decision? Who can help me?

You don’t need to have all those answers today.

We’ve put together a practical guide with information about independent disability advocacy, reviews and appeals, legal support, and steps you can take if an NDIA decision affects you.

Importantly, the changes will be rolled out in stages. The legislation passing does not mean everyone’s supports change overnight.

But as the changes begin, knowing your rights and knowing where to turn for independent help will matter.

Keep records. Ask questions. Check your review rights. Seek independent advice early if something doesn’t seem right.

And keep telling us what you’re experiencing.

The NDIS exists because people with disability, families and supporters came together and demanded something better. That same community will be essential to making sure the NDIS remains fair, transparent and centred on people with disability.

Voter-bloc: A community campaign against NDIS cuts has just launched, organised by disabled people and disability organisations.

The voter-bloc of people with disability, their supporters and carers, NDIS businesses and community allies, will target marginal and non-marginal seats and urge voters to stand together against the Australian Labor Party's cuts.

Any voter around Australia can sign on.

The voter-bloc aims to send a clear message to senators, who will debate the bill in just over a week in Canberra.

The voters are standing together to fight the ALP’s proposed NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme cuts.

The campaign asks all opponents of the cuts, including people with disabilities, carers, support workers and NDIS businesses to sign this to show votes count.
