Run by Emily, Little Art Buddies is a gentle, sensory, play based art experience for little ones aged 0–5 and their grown-ups!

Emily’s philosophy is simple: process over perfection. After being a recovering perfectionist herself, she is passionate about giving little artists the freedom to get messy, explore and create without worrying about getting it “right”.

And these school holidays, there are four fun-filled sessions to choose from!

Our family has a special favour to ask from our parkrun community ❤️

If you see Eleanor walking part of the course around 8:30am each week, we would love if you could cheer her on.

For the last 8 years our family has been part of this parkrun community. Many of you will have seen Richard pushing the big blue double pram over the years, and more recently, Eleanor in her wheelchair.

We are now starting a new goal with Eleanor — helping her walk the final part of parkrun.

Eleanor has Cerebral Palsy, and walking is really challenging and tiring for her. Each week Richard will be getting her out of her wheelchair for the final section, and over time we hope to gradually increase the distance she walks. Today she walked 350m!

One thing that really motivates and encourages Eleanor to keep moving is cheering and encouragement from others.

Not when she’s being pushed around the course, but when she is up and walking herself. Your encouragement will genuinely help her keep going and give her confidence to keep trying week after week.

Story time ❤️

Today something truly special happened.

A man named Chris, who is currently homeless and in a wheelchair, came to the salon. He wheeled himself to the door and threw $50 inside. Luckily, young Layla saw him, and I ran out to speak with him.

I said, “I know you.”

Chris reminded me that last year, when he was stuck living outside a nearby gym, my staff and I helped him with food, water, and whatever he needed over a few days.

I tried to give the money back, but he wouldn’t take it. He told me he wanted to give back now. He said that today he felt “like a cashed-up bogan” and wanted to show his appreciation for the community pantry.

Chris isn’t well. He’s doing it tough. But today, he gave what he could — not because he had to, but because he wanted to.

Moments like this are what keeps me going.A man with no home, no address, and so little to give… gifting $50 back to the community.

A true full-circle moment. I’m so incredibly humbled 💛
