Three men. Three different stories. One willingness to say "yes" to where God might be leading.
Innocent was studying International Relations. Paul was working as a physiotherapist. Rhys was teaching and sharing his love of music.
None of them followed the exact same path. Each came with different talents, experiences, questions and dreams. Yet each felt invited to take a step forward and explore whether God was calling them to something more.
Today, they are first-year seminarians at St Charles Seminary.
If you've ever wondered whether God could be calling you too, perhaps your next step is simply to come and see.

Originally studying medical science at Curtin University and working at St John of God Hospital, Fr Joseph Laundy never expected his path would lead to priesthood.
But during an 18-month trip around the world β especially while walking through the Holy Land β he could no longer ignore what he describes as βGodβs subtle but persistent call.β
βThe highlight of my trip was walking through the Holy Land and experiencing the places of the Bibleβ¦ it was there that I decided to resist no longer.β
Now Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Perth, Fr Joseph knows firsthand that discernment often begins quietly β through prayer, questions, and making space to listen.
If youβve ever wondered whether God may be calling you too, the Vocations Discernment Retreat is an opportunity to explore that question more deeply.

βI knew I wanted to be a priest since I was about 5 years oldβ¦ the calling never left me.β
Before becoming Dean of St Mary's Cathedral, Perth WA , Fr Sean Fernandez was studying engineering at Curtin University β but deep down, he knew God was calling him to build something different.
After years of prayer, discernment, and encouragement from family, parish priests, and community, Fr Sean entered seminary and was ordained a priest at just 25 years old.
Today, he says one of the greatest gifts of priesthood is βbeing invited into peopleβs lives in joy and sorrow.β
If youβve ever wondered whether God could be calling you too, the Vocations Discernment Retreat is an opportunity to step away, pray, ask questions, and listen.

βI politely shot the idea downβ¦ but over time that question lingered and only grew louder.β
Before entering St Charles Seminary, Fr Jason Yeap was a civil engineer with plans for a very different future.
What began with one simple question from a parishioner eventually became a journey of discernment, surrender, and discovering where God was calling him.
Now ordained a priest and serving at St Mary's Cathedral, Perth WA , Fr Jasonβs story is a reminder that vocation often begins quietly β through prayer, questions, conversations, and openness to where God may lead.
If youβve ever wondered whether God could be calling you to something more, the Vocations Discernment Retreat may be the next step.

π Fr Brennan Sia, Parish priest of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Gosnells gave a reflection on the 'Life of a Priest' at the Perth Vocations event on Sunday 24th May.
Attendees heard how the life of a priest is filled with joys and challenges yet the abiding presence of God is always near.
After a prayerful Holy hour held at St Benedict's church in Applecross the event drew over a dozen young men discerning the priesthood.

The Perth Vocations Office was proud to promote vocations at annual Sacred Heart Catholic College on Wednesday 20th May.
π Over 1100 students and their parents attended, to discover a potential career - many of whom interacted with us and heard about what the Church is doing for them in their journey of seeking what God may be asking from them.
Supporting the stall was Vocations Committee member Mrs Jane Borg, Principal of Acts2Come College in Osbourne Park.
β Being a priest may not seem like every man's career choice, yet Jesus continues to call to "come and follow him" in a radical selfless way.
π Please pray for Vocations in the Archdiocese of Perth.

π¬ When Fr Brennan Sia first felt called to the priesthood, he was still in high school.
But life took him in another direction first. β He studied chemistry, became a qualified pharmacist, and spent several years working in the pharmaceutical industry β helping people, building a career, and living what many would consider a successful life.
Yet through it all, there remained a quiet sense that π God was calling him to something more.
π In 2006, Fr Brennan made the courageous decision to leave his career behind and enter the seminary. Today, after 10 years of priesthood, heβll be sharing more of that journey β the joys, the challenges, and how God slowly led him to where he is now.
If youβve ever wondered about the priesthood, or felt that quiet tug in your own life, this afternoon is for you.
